Skywatch Friday Philly Style

I've noticed that it's not easy to get an unobstructed view of the sky in Philadelphia. I'm okay with that since there are so many interesting things to see.

The clouds in these photos just make the picture that much better as do the items in each one. The second one is my favorite one. It looks like they are telling you a story :)

The second image of the gaunt statues fascinates me, James. What do they represent?

Love the first photo, with the church spire and the streaks of sunlight, it is almost ethereal.

Wonderful captures, James! I must confess, I spent most of my time looking at the detail on the clock tower and the first set of statues. Amazing.

The sculpture in the middle is quite powerful. I like the first one as a Skywatch shot; great angle and architecture.

Love the history James. Curious about the name of the building and the status though. They are very intriguing.

I always loved seeing City Hall when I was going to college in Philly. Did I tell you we used to call it the big wedding cake?

You always have an amazing angle on your photo that makes them very unique. Its a shame the three guys got in the way of your sky shot, oh well it looks great anyway... snicker, snicker

Lots of interesting buildings and statues to serve as foreground to sky watching. These are some great images!

Your Philly shots are amazing. I would love to know more about that monument!

Lovely angles. I'm learning from your photography.

Very dramatic clock tower! Very scary statue - what is the story of this - looks like a depressing thing you see in Europe - inquisition or something. You are right - very interesting views in Philly!

I'd rather see buildings against the sky. Dramatic!

They are all awesome. Love the sky in the first one. Love the creepiness of those statues in the second one and love the horse's backside in the last one. I saw his crack. Hee hee.

Love all three ... a bit of 'art' against your lovely sky views. Thanks for dropping by my 13 sky views and playful mosaic experimentation at Happily Retired Gal ;--)

I know Philadelphia only through movies and tv. I already saw the first building, which I find impressive and beautyful. Your two other pictures are beautyful as pictures, with interesting perspectives and angles but the second one shows a quite strange statue or monument. The way you show it makes it even more dramatic..What is it talking about?...

You take awesome photos James. I love the lacy veil that covers the head of the tower.
