Mr. Ed and a Newtown Cowboy

I took these pictures last month during Newtowns Market Day, which is like a fair without the rides. It had people in 18th century costumes playing music and doing and selling crafts. There was lots of fair type food too. This guy was giving rides on his wagon.

Love especially the top shot's angle. That sure is one patriotic shirt.

The horse was very interested i, I suppose, your camera! Fine 'portrait' and composition, with the man's shirt in background.
The second shot is a bit sad, but the brickwork behind fires it up.

The horse photograph is wonderful (hell, they both are). But I can almost feel that horse's breath on my face as I look at it.

Great pictures James
I was instantly taken back to my childhood by your Mr Ed referance.. ha!

A horse is a horse, of course of course,
and no one can talk to a horse of course,
that is of course, unless the horse,
Is the famous Mister Ed!

I have just had a Pavlov's Dog reaction: as soon as my eyes saw "Mr Ed" that song started up in my head! Drats, too much time in front of the tele in the late 50s ...

Great character shots, both. I think I preferred the shot of the horse before the Mr. Ed song started going off in my head (via a previous commentator). He's quite a colorful guy, that horse.

The man has such a grimace on his face; I wonder what he is thinking. Love the architecture behind.

Great shot of the horse. But alas, I too now have the Mr. Ed theme song stuck in my head. They just don't write TV theme songs like they used to! Kathy

Great photos... good thing the horse didn't lick the lens!

(PS Tell Lucy I am not ignoring her, I just seem to be doing most of my blogging on the laptop this week, and I still can't leave comments on her blog.... yours is okay now)
