A Tree and a Field in early Winter

Last month I started a long walk near the tree in the top photo. After walking a long way and circling back I spotted the tree again from the middle of the field. It may have been winter but it gave me a spring in my step. I suppose I could have titled this post "The start and the finish".

That is a lovely tree! I also like the clouds . . . seems to be a bearded man looking down on you! The white clouds and white snow in the second photo are perfect companions.

From a distance , it looks like golden fields! I love the clouds hovering over the tree!

The start & the finish - that is a great one. It gives one a sense of security, doesn't it?

One feels a mild winter in these two pictures.

These are beautiful! What a great sky and the little bit of snow on the ground perfectly compliments the sky. Question: Were you kneeling or sitting on the ground to get that perspective in the second photo? I REALLY like it!

Beautiful color & what a great sky! Would certainly put a spring in my step, too!

Thanks for stopping by!

beautiful golden light James. I think we are all starting to feel that "Spring" in our step. I noticed it was still light out at twenty of six this evening & that was with a grey stormy sky!

Funny how we all seem to be looking for Spring and noticing that the days are getting longer. Is it in our DNA to seek the light? No mystery about why our early ancestors studied the annual cycle of the sun and marked the solstices and equinoxes.

I too like your photo very much. Sun even in winter brings hope. The gentle eyes looking down on the scene add to the warmth.

That first picture takes my breath away, I love the colors and the light in that one!
By the way, if you do decide to come to Belgium, I'd love to meet you! When would you like to come? Spring, Summer, Fall? I live near Antwerp and my city of birth is Bruges. I can show you some beautiful places in both cities!
Wouldn't that be something?

I like both but was impressed by the first picture, you was lucky to find this beautiful tree all alone there, but you surely got the best of it. Excwllent colors and a great sky!

The first picture would make a wonderful postcard.. And I like the second one because it gives back very well the feelings of freshness in the air, the smell of the wait grass lying down, the sound of your steps in the spots of snow...
The first picture is beautyful, the second is very "alive"..

Beautiful landscapes James. And such a photogenic tree! The colors are wonderful, the contrast between sky and ground is great. We had a spring day Sunday - 78 and sunny. Yesterday it snowed! Hope you warm up soon. Kathy

James: Your tree shot is so neat. Did you see the two eyes in the sky above the tree?
