Church of St. Anne (Weekend Reflections # 244)

Budapest, Hungary           Church of St. Anne (Szent Anna-Templom)

In hindsight I wish that I would have been more patient and removed the cigarette butts and waited for the water to re-settle before I took this shot. However, I suppose this photo illustrates Budapest's majestic beauty and seediness, two characteristics of most cities.

Finally, after all of cleaning, painting, replacing, fixing, etc., this is our moving weekend! It will be nice to be able to settle down, relax and just breath. It was a lot of work for such a small place and the work will continue but now it's really ours. :-)

I wish you a great weekend!

Congrats on the house - the HOME! Hope settling in goes smoothly. Love the photo - and I can see both sides... removing the cigarettes and keeping them. I think, perhaps, it's a truer "reflection" with them in the shot. Bon Weekend!

A beautiful church, no matter which way you look at it. And I like how you explain about the water; good point.

Congrats on your new home. Rest a bit and enjoy it.

You managed you get a picture so neat, despite the dirt of the puddle... The cigaret filter looks so out of place here... ^^

At first, I thought this was City Hall in Philadelphia. The butts tell it like it is, I don't think they detract from the image.

I see you have all kinds opinions here! Mine is that the cigarette butts don't take away from the striking reflection. They add a certain quirkiness of life in Hungary though (people smoke so much more in Europe).
Hope you are happy with the move to your new home and congrats with being a homeowner!

I found it amazing that when moving, we cleaned well the place we were leaving, and then found those who left our new home did not respond in kind! I know it will be wonderful to finally move in and have time to relax. At least, I hope you can; it always took a while for me to finally decompress.
stunning reflection, even with the butts!

Les mégots ne sont pas gênants du tout, je trouve qu'ils ajoutent un je ne sais quoi à la très belle photo !

Bonne installation !

Even before I read your post, I was thinking that the cigarette butts were a good addition to the scene. I guess it would be nice to have a shot without them too, but I think they give it the appropriate Eastern European feel for sure!
