  1. Suitably sombre and cheerless for such an institution - but an excellent subject.

  3. That is a very good shot. I like it taken from behind a fence, blurring the fence but focusing on the object outside. Great shot. Foo

  10. This is a melancholy view of a gloomy subject. It really gives an idea of what it may have been like to have resided there. The lighting is very appropriate. This picture gives me the shivers.

  11. This remind me of Piranesi's prints of prisons, modern version.

  12. Wow, you've really conveyed the wretched misery of prison here.

  15. This looks eerie in black and white James. You can tell the ghostly mood in this picture. Thanks for making me laugh over your comment left in my Weekend Memoirs.

I only sing when there's no one there. Neighbours can hear a sprite singing but they can't see who and have no way of knowing. :)

  24. what a captivating image. truly stunning and causes one to think. I also liked your fourth photo. Your technique and effects made it an excellent photo also. I am going to check out your Chinatown photos next. I started a series today on my website from my photography tour. It was quite an interesting trip to the slot canyon and Vermillion Cliffs. Also, if you like travel photos, we have posted action photos from Buenos Aires, Argentina on our travel photo site, www.vivalavoyage.com. Happy Monday!

  30. While "snooping" thru your Blog and observing your great Photo's, I happen to come across this one of what looks to me like the interior of the Eastern State Penitentiary, but not sure. This is one place that I'd like to visit in the near future. I've been to Independence Park twice, and toured the ole' battleship that I was with for a short time in Vietnam.

I have read many times that this ole' Prison is very haunted by inmates who have died there. Just to look at the ole' place must give you a creepy sense of so much History that has happened there.

    Stay well.
