Soft Rain Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 81)

Newtown, Pennsylvania A tree reflection captured in a rain puddle. I was able to take the shot just as the rain begain to fall, before the reflection was disturbed too much. We've had lots of clouds and rain but springtime colors are on the way. If needed, please click the link in the top right corner for Weekend Reflections instructions. Now, lets have some fun with Weekend Reflections!

  6. Absolutely lovely. Sometimes the "simplest" but most well timed, toned, and composed shots are the most arresting, as you have done here. I love the ripples over the linear aspects of the tree!

  16. Rainly day pictures are some of the most beautiful, I think, and especially when they are in black and white. Your capture of the water rings is superb. Quite a fine shot this week.

  25. the monotone brings out the dreariness of the day...but...those reflections are awesome on any day!

  42. It would be the perfect day in Arizona today to take this kind of picture... though it would be difficult to match!! You have such a startling file of reflections!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Quite beautiful! I'm loving the ciruclar ripples, the dark lines of the branches against the silvery surface of the puddle, the rough texture creeeping in on the left, and the polka dots (that remind me of fallen cherry blossoms) adding their own rhythm to the whole dynamic.

  44. What a gorgeous reflection. I love the concentric circles and the reflection of the barren tree. Just lovely.

  45. James, ripples are gentle and soft. The rain is benevolent spring rain. I love this warm image. Have a great weekend.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I can see the ripples, presumably from the raindrops from the tree?

  47. So much rain lately... it is a very appropriate and awesome photo!

  48. James - you commented on my blog on "CARHENGE":

"That is really cool! I'm going to be driving across the country next month but my route will be South of Nebraska. I wonder if they have anything as interesting as Carhenge in Kansas? :)"

My favorite website is www.roadsideamerica.com. Click on the State of Kansas and see all the odd/weird attractions you can find! You'll be amazed!
