Newtown, Pennsylvania A tree reflection captured in a rain puddle. I was able to take the shot just as the rain begain to fall, before the reflection was disturbed too much. We've had lots of clouds and rain but springtime colors are on the way. If needed, please click the link in the top right corner for Weekend Reflections instructions. Now, lets have some fun with Weekend Reflections!
I do love your rainy day captures, James! And the raindrops are delightful! Enjoy you day!!

Great shot of ripples and refection.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful shot, James! Rain reflections are my favourites, and I love the row of concentric circles you captured along the trunk....
ReplyDeleteLove the ripples that you captured. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shot! :)
ReplyDeleteDoesn't get much better than this one James. Excellent!!!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely. Sometimes the "simplest" but most well timed, toned, and composed shots are the most arresting, as you have done here. I love the ripples over the linear aspects of the tree!
ReplyDeleteI love the raindrops in your reflection, James!
ReplyDeleteMerci pour tous ces reflets à visiter!!!
ReplyDeleteYour shot is beautiful, even if its raining ;))
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a great weekend!
How wonderful to get a shadow, rain, ripples and a reflection all wrapped up in one great shot! I love your Paris shot as well. Hope you are doing better...
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
That's a really creative shot - all that from a puddle.
ReplyDeleteFor a rainy puddle picture, that's really lovely!
ReplyDeleteA great capture! Love the little circles in the water;o)

Have a nice weekend****
superbe b&w
ReplyDeleteWe have such a nice weather here at the moment that it is quite difficult to remember what winter looks like...
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding us what it was like...
Brrrrr !
You did capture its cold spirit perfectly with this shot : awesome !
(Nice to have you back, with your back.)
Rainly day pictures are some of the most beautiful, I think, and especially when they are in black and white. Your capture of the water rings is superb. Quite a fine shot this week.
ReplyDeleteIt looks almost like snow and very cold. Wonderful capture my friend. Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteBonjour James, how are you?
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better!
This picture is beautiful James, BRAVO! ;)
I also hope the weather is better there during the weekend ;)
Hugs
Léia
The raindrops really made the shot. Nice, James.
ReplyDeleteAmazing reflection today. :)
ReplyDeleteThe perfect concentric circles on the irregular tree branches are a great combination. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteTaking that pic would require a LARGE puddle! Hard to find in CA! Hope your back is better:)
ReplyDeleteSuperb photo!
ReplyDeletehave a nice weekend:)
Love the droplets too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty gentle image. Love it in black and white.
ReplyDeleteHaunting reflection in monochrome! The droplet patterns are highlighted beautifully!
ReplyDeletethe monotone brings out the dreariness of the day...but...those reflections are awesome on any day!
ReplyDeletethat is one of the prettiest pictures I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteYep that's pretty much what NJ looks like today. However, I wasn't taking beautiful photos like you were. I was grocery shopping. Yuck!

ReplyDeleteJames,
ReplyDeleteahh, very nice. Love those little drops of rain.
Happy Weekend, Ev
Excellant, and talk about being at the right place. Perfect timing.

Well done, James! rainy days do indeed offer good reflection ops.
ReplyDeletelovely reflection James!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting this wonderful meme.
: )
Don't you just love puddles? Great photo!
ReplyDeleteLoved the picture of a puddle. I felt like jumping in it and splashing all over...still a child at heart :)
ReplyDeleteJames, Lovely reflection and the "soft raindrops" just make it that much more perfect. Great shot. Mickie :)
ReplyDeletewonderful monochrome reflection shot
ReplyDeleteI love the movement in the water within the reflection.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful picture.... It reminded me of a post I did some time back after the rains here in India. Have included the link.. hope you like it.
ReplyDeleteWonderful reflection in the rain. I've got trees as my subject this week too.
ReplyDeleteGreat reflection ! it looks as if it is not so warm in your area as it is along the Mediterranean for the moment.
ReplyDeleteCould be a wonderful representation of a neuron.
ReplyDeleteGreetings.
It would be the perfect day in Arizona today to take this kind of picture... though it would be difficult to match!! You have such a startling file of reflections!
ReplyDeleteQuite beautiful! I'm loving the ciruclar ripples, the dark lines of the branches against the silvery surface of the puddle, the rough texture creeeping in on the left, and the polka dots (that remind me of fallen cherry blossoms) adding their own rhythm to the whole dynamic.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous reflection. I love the concentric circles and the reflection of the barren tree. Just lovely.
ReplyDeleteJames, ripples are gentle and soft. The rain is benevolent spring rain. I love this warm image. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI can see the ripples, presumably from the raindrops from the tree?
ReplyDeleteSo much rain lately... it is a very appropriate and awesome photo!
ReplyDeleteThe Willows
Very artistic!
ReplyDeleteRosie
belongs in a museum! great reflection shot
ReplyDeleteJames - you commented on my blog on "CARHENGE":
ReplyDelete"That is really cool! I'm going to be driving across the country next month but my route will be South of Nebraska. I wonder if they have anything as interesting as Carhenge in Kansas? :)"
My favorite website is www.roadsideamerica.com. Click on the State of Kansas and see all the odd/weird attractions you can find! You'll be amazed!
