He brought his cello to the river's edge, as if its sound might weigh less than his memories. Unlike his racing thoughts, the water flowed steadily in one direction. As he played, he wondered if music could reshape the world—or only the one who dared to unleash it. When the final note faded, the river remained unchanged, the world unaltered. But he was not.
