Mirrored Ceiling (Weekend Reflections # 324)

The little yellow guy on the right directed my attention to reflections on the ceiling and on the wall. If you look closely you might notice a little green man on the left pointing to a reflection of a Christmas ornament and the reflected Christmas tree lights above it.

Looking through a shop window I saw a statuette of a girl with her head bowed and arms to her side while blowing a horn.  Then, happily, I noticed that she was surrounded by reflections!

Reflet d'un Réverbère (Weekend Reflections # 307)

One evening while walking past the fountain in Place Andre Malraux, I noticed blue underwater spot lights shining on a reflection of the top of a street lamp. Then suddenly the lights changed color to white and then to red. :-)

I looked into a window at The Château de Versailles but I couldn't see past the Christmas tree. So I focused on the reflection of the building and people behind me.

An Evening at L'Opéra (Weekend Reflections # 285)

This is a reflection of the Opéra Garnier. And as you can see on the backward/reflected street signs, it's also a reflection of the intersection of Ave. de Opéra and Blvd. des Capucines. Try not to notice that part of my hand is reflected in the bottom left corner. :-)

Home Away From Home (Weekend Reflections # 278)

Maybe it's not one of my best reflections, but it sure brings back good memories for me. This shot was taken from inside of the apartment where my wife and I have stayed the most during our trips to Paris. Including or first and our most recent trip.
The reflections are on the door and on a glass coffee table that I pushed into the doorway.  Why do I like staying here? Well, I love le jardin du Palais-Royal, and as you can see, I only need to open the door to be there.

Model and "mini-model" (Weekend Reflections # 276)

I thought about posting a somber black and white reflection of Paris but I decided against it.  

I feel a real connection with France and especially Paris. The horrible acts of terrorism this week made me sad and angry. I hope strong measures are taken to insure the safety and freedom of French citizens as this cultural war continues.

As I mentioned last week, I was caught in the act photographing a reflection. This is an advertisement and its reflection is in the corner of a bus shelter. I like how the bright lights and colors seem to jump out of the darkness.

Smoking in the Window (Weekend Reflections # 275)

You should be able to because this photo is 100% reflection. :-) 
Everything you see here was across the street and behind me but reflected in a store window in front of me. 

I love Versailles! My wife and I spent a wonderful afternoon and evening there with Madame VDP. If you haven't seen VDP's excellent blog you should check it out! Versailles Daily Photo

As far as I know VDP is the only person who has taken a picture of me while I was taking a picture for Weekend Reflections. I'll share that picture next week.

Molière (Weekend Reflections # 274)

Paris, France                      "C'est un merveilleux assaisonnement aux plaisirs qu'on goûte que la présence des gens qu'on aime"

In Paris, we stayed just a few doors down the corridor from the Théâtre du Palais-Royal. One evening as I walked by the théâtre's café ( le café du théâtre du palais royal), I noticed an illuminated portrait of Molière reflected on strips of mirrors.

Maybe someday I'll actually go inside the théâtre. :-)

Un Escalier to Christmas (Weekend Reflections # 273)

This golden staircase with a Christmas tree reflection was in the Printemps du Louvre department store at the Carrousel du Louvre shopping center. 

Hopefully I'll feel like going through my trip photos this weekend. I've been sick all week and haven't felt like doing much of anything. Thankfully I didn't get sick during my trip.

La Grande Roue et une sculpture too (Weekend Reflections # 272)

I just got back from a wonderful trip! (Florence, Venice and Paris) Here is a reflection of the Grande Roue, cars and Christmas decorations. The red sculpture was inside of a window. I'll talk more about the trip later.  :-)

Comme à Lisbonne (Weekend Reflections # 239)

This photo brings back great memories for me. My camera was wet so I walked into the first open doorway to dry it off. It happened to be the door of a little place in the Marais called Comme à Lisbonne. After I dried off I couldn't resist trying an espresso and one of their delicious Portuguese pastries called pastéis de nata. After my snack I was beyond content, almost blissful, and as I walked out I snapped this street/reflection photo.
