The Chrysler Building (Weekend Reflections # 55)

This is one of my favorite buildings. I took this shot from the entrance on Lexington Ave. I think this reflection is on the other side of the Hyatt building that I featured in Weekend Reflections # 53.

Attention an important message from LinkyTools: "I am currently upgrading our entire system to make it faster and even more dependable. I've had VERY LITTLE downtime for over a year, so I trust you'll be patient as we will probably experience some bumps and problems for the next day or two. LinkyTools is FREE, so I have to do all this work myself. I pray you'll bear with me while I get this upgrade done. I'll try to keep the errors and downtime as much as humanly possible. " My fingers are crossed. :)

A Match Made in NYC (Weekend Reflections # 54)

I was walking on E 51st street between Madison and 5th Ave when I came upon this strange scene. I'm not exactly sure what this guy was doing but he stayed in this pose for a lot longer than I expected. Then the driver of the pink car got out with a spray bottle and a dirty look and preceded to clean the spot that the guy with the pink shirt touched.
All this and the bonus of the reflections in the back window and surrounding cars. I love NYC!

I think a good caption for this photo would be "Where have you been all my life" because it seemed to be love at first sight.

Grand Central Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 53)

This is the reflection of the sculpture and clock on the facade of Grand Central Terminal in New York City. Mercury is easy to see with his arms stretched out under the Hyatt's " T's" but the reflection also shows a distorted Minerva lying on her side and Hercule's head as well as some buildings. The sculpture was created in 1914 by Jules Alexis Coutan of Paris.

The Colorful Crossing

I like the way the colors work together in this scene. It seems like you can find a match to the people's clothes on the ground or on the buidings and cars.

The Statue of Liberty from a Distance

A nice view of the Hudson River (I wonder what I'll see if I use my zoom?)

Wow! That's the Statue of Liberty! This picture was taken from the same spot as the top one(what a difference a zoom makes!)
It was getting late in the day and we were about to head back to the train station when a lady saw me looking at my map and asked if she could be of assistance. She said she's lived in Lower Manhattan for 30 yrs. I told her that we didn't need any directions but before I knew it she was leading us to a river walk type park which was the opposite direction from the train station. We were both exhausted after walking all day but I was glad that we made the final trek to the water because I was surprised with my first ever sighting of the Statue of Liberty.
I can't wait to get a closer look.
Can you see the Statue of Liberty in the top photo?
