I was walking around Bristol Pennsylvania yesterday and saw this cool barbershop in a narrow old building. I really like the window view. If you click to enlarge the bottom picture you will see the old barber asleep in his chair as well as his collection of stuff and even the reflection of me taking the picture. This was taken just down the street from where I took the picture of our little friend in yesterday's post.

We both seem to have red bricks on the brain today!
ReplyDeleteCool choice.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little building I would tend to associate more with the usual size in Europe!
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming little shop and it's priceless that you caught him sleeping at the window.
ReplyDelete:-)
Such a cool little building, the kind that makes you want to walk right up and look in the window...thanks for letting us do just that!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots James. What a great classic barber shop. I've lived in Orange County and I've visited my brother when he lived in Irving Texas so we've stomped some of the same ground! Enjoy your explorations...
ReplyDeleteHey James, I think it is Vintage! Beautiful brickwork and adorable shot!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
Léia
This is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love all those vintage collectibles and him sleeping is priceless!
Oh, and nice to see you James. :)
Sorry, I meant to add that this would be a great shot for Mary's Sepia Scenes as well. :)
ReplyDeleteCool photos! Quaint little shop in small town PA. I am originally from that general area albeit not the immediate area of Bristol, and I miss it.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great shot! I love that you captured the barber! I am trying to get out and about and take daily photos of the things around Lansdale.
ReplyDeleteI posted something near and dear to me yesterday.
James, great job, great barber sjop window! I love it! Happy Window Views Day! :)
ReplyDeletecool pics James!
ReplyDeleteThat is one skinny barber shop--must be a lot of close shaves in there.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot! This looks like a newer version of the old one room wide houses of long ago.
ReplyDeleteI love this snippet of life in a place far away from me. And how sweet the barber is asleep and your caught in the capture as well. :)
ReplyDeleteI love old buildings or new buildings that are styled after old ones. This is such a perfect capture of life in a very American town, very nice.
ReplyDeleteYour kitty is so cute too, great U post.
Really great shot which shows something of the town. A window into America without Walmart!
ReplyDeleteGreat snippet of small town life.
ReplyDeleteI wonder how those striped poles came to represent barber shops...
I enlarged the pic and am so glad I did - it adds to the image that I can see the photographer and also the Barber.
ReplyDeleteRe Robin's comment above: The red and whote pole represents red blood and white bandage - since in the early days razors were called "cut throat" and shaving was a risky business unless the Barber had a very steady hand! Lol!

Fantastic shot - such great detail.
ReplyDeletelove the shot, we have a barbershop with a barber pole in our town too. I also saw you and your camera in the window reflection :)
ReplyDeleteHope you can stop by to see my sepia scene and window views Thanks!
What a cute little old fashion barber shop - love it :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's neat how well preserved the building looks. The bricks and mortar look to be in good shape. So Joe is asleep in the window, what happened to Nick? Great post.
ReplyDeleteIt's like stepping back into the pages of yesterday. I can only imagine the stories coming from the genteman as he is snipping your hair. Very nostalgic
ReplyDeleteWonderful brick and mortar building ... something we don't see much of here in Southern California. I shared window views this week at Small Reflections but haven't had much time for blog visits until today, so I'm doing what I can to catch up.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
