Being able to walk to the Farmer's Market is one of the many wonderful things about living in Newtown. The Newtown Farmer's Market is small and only open Thursday thru Saturday, but the food is high quality and tastes great. Not all, but most of the sections are operated by Amish families. Vicki and I didn't bring any pots and pans to Newtown because we planned on getting a new set, but it's been so easy to get good food that we still haven't bought them.

Great photos! I miss the farmer's markets; we're out in the countryside now and it's grow-your-own or drive 20 miles for it! Newtown looks like a lovely place.
ReplyDeleteA great farmer's market. Glad you invited us to your world. And, as for visiting Jamestown (Va.)sometime, come on down. There's tons to see in this area.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great place to nourish the body AND the soul. I don't believe I'd bother to buy new pots and pans either.
ReplyDeleteHow Cool! How's the felafel?
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful market. Going pots and pan-less sounds like a great idea to me!
ReplyDeleteMarvelous photos, Jame! I love Farmer's Markets and this one looks delightful! Thanks for sharing this corner of your world!

How quaint! I would love to take a stroll through that market. I'm wondering what those brown patties are he was laying out.
ReplyDeleteThanks to all, I haven't tasted the falafel yet and I think those brown things a chocolate cookies.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they grow organic veggies too. The market looks new and so clean.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy going to a Farmers Market, especially one with Amish goodies.
ReplyDeleteBring it on! Please....
ReplyDeleteNice post! thanks for the tour,Good shots:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit of my blog.
farmer's markets are places to get good buys. i wonder what food is that on the third pic.
ReplyDeleteVery nice market you have there. I had such a funny image in my head about amish people selling falafel.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely post, James. It looks much like our nearby Landes Meat Market in that it is run by Amish and the meat is processed locally. This operation is one large room but they sell a lot of meat and baked goods. The one you have seems to be much larger and has many more things to buy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit to my blogs.
A wonderful market and I bet the food is fresh and contains no chemicals or preservatives. It all looks so wholesome. Great post.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting farmers' market James!
ReplyDeleteI love to read posts like yours which include photos of the food stalls! Thanks for showing us this part of your world.
That looks like a wonderful farmer's market. Our state farmer's market isn't too far but too far to walk. That must be wonderful to be within walking distance.
ReplyDeletei so like the country markets and the goods that the amish farmers bring to them. you are in a perfect place to enjoy all the wonderful goodies.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely evening.
Well that's a market I would like to visit!

An Amish falafel king! Who would have thunk it?
ReplyDeleteNifty photo series for Ruby Tuesday. I love to visit local Farmer's Markets ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
I just love Farmers markets, for all the fresh produce to be had at reasonable prices, but an Amish one would interest me even more.
ReplyDeleteOh yum! I love falafel! Looks like a great place! And no pots and pans - I could definitely live like that! :-)
