On my Something Sighted blog I posted the three people in NYC who caught my attention most on Saturday. In keeping with NYC and three, here are three different perspectives of the Chrysler building. You might also recognize Grand Central Station in the middle picture.
Vicki and I are constantly asked why would we leave Orange County California and live in Newtown Pennsylvania.
Part of the reason is we really like being able to wake up on a nice day and in two hours or less be in either New York City,Philadelphia,Washington D.C.,Baltimore,Atlantic City, the mountains, beaches etc. Plus all of the wonderful and historic sites in here in Bucks County and New Jersey.
We really enjoy seeing other parts of this country as well as other parts of the world.
It seems that I've developed a joie de vivre in my 40's. :-)
For the time being this is My World, if you would like to see My World Tuesday posts from other bloggers please click here.
It's a beautiful building. I remember going to Grand Central Station. It was awesome. Hard to take it all in. We had a wonderful lunch in there as well. Excellent photos :)
ReplyDeleteWhen our family came from England and arrived in New York, even as a child, I remember how awesome to buildings were...and they still are. Terrific photos.
ReplyDeleteSunny :)
Wow! So huge! Great photos which make me feel so small:)
ReplyDeleteThey are all nice! I especially like the angle on that first shot.
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic shots, James! You really get the feeling of being there and looking up and seeing those towers! Wonderful! Hope you enjoyed your trip!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!

Great shots, I'll surely place the Chrysler building as one of the seven wonders of this world. Your point about living in Newtown is absolutely reasonable and sound.
ReplyDeleteTerrific! I like the POV of the shots!
ReplyDeleteThe magnitude... amazing!
Fantastic shots, James. I love the angles of 1 & 3.
ReplyDeleteFor your next move, you and Vicki should move to the Seattle area. Lots of different scenery within a couple of hours drive. :-)
Great shots. One of my sisters used to work in the Chrysler building. It is an amazing place.
ReplyDeleteGreat Views!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you - it's nice to be able to change your views now and then. My husband and I move frequently for the same reasons - we like to learn about our new areas and see all of the sights and then move on to visit somewhere else! :)
Excellent shots of my favourite American city, the chrysler building is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week

ReplyDeleteGreat photos. Buildings are not always easy to photograph.
ReplyDeleteJust amazing shots. I don't remember the last time I was in a city. Spectacular!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos James. You said it exactly as I said it when people asked how we could leave "Disney World"? So much to choose from on any given day; country, mountains, ocean, metropolitan (DC, Balt & Wash DC), history both near and far.... I loved our time in FL, but I so missed the diversity that this area as to offer!
ReplyDeleteThis is my main blog.
ReplyDeleteJames, seeing your photos reminded me of my brief 3 years in NYC. I used to work at the Flat Iron building and then moved to 59th St, years ago. I managed not to get lost though, just remember the landmarks like this tall building!
James, Your photos are amazing. And I can understand why you and Vicky decided to live in the wonderful area you do. You have the best of all the world you two love...
ReplyDeleteChrysler Building is just awesome.
ReplyDeleteSuperb architectural photos, I like the way they rise up at one as you sroll down to view them.
ReplyDeleteThe Chrysler Building is my favorite building in NY. We've often said if we moved from here we'd go east -- somewhere where we could get to DC, NY quickly!
ReplyDeleteYou do have a way with composition, James. Very striking and interesting. Excellent job!
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely beautiful photos, I love the different perspectives. As much as I love living on an island of the coast of Canada, I miss the culture and history of Canada's origin. I fully understand why you would move. Good on you and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and smiles
