I've been posting lots of rural pictures lately so I figured I'd mix it up with a dingy, smog filled, watery city scence. *I should add that it was really a beautiful day when I took this, but I'm tryng to create a dreary mood for this photo.
Checkout Watery Wednesday.
Nice. It does have a gray look to it doesn't it. Could be my mindset recently but looks almost wintery.:)
ReplyDeleteOh the smog! *Cough, Cough*
ReplyDeleteI love the business of the waterway. A very cool picture.
Sunny :)
You have a lot of barges going up and down that river. Busy like ants, I like that even if it´s dingy like you say.
ReplyDeleteI think Carl Sandburg would have written a 'Chicago'-type poem for this photo. Good one!!!
ReplyDeletebelle photo de soir sur la mer...une belle tonalité
ReplyDeleteA very appropriate title. Looks very busy too.
ReplyDeleteLove the procession of boats (barges?) slowly coming and going along the river. Perfectly framed by the bridge, great atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this photo TBK
ReplyDeleteFab shot!
ReplyDeleteWow James. This a beautiful scene!
ReplyDeletePerfect!
I like this. It is real and gives perspective and balance to the other reality represented by clean, bright, rural images.
ReplyDeleteYour description is so apt! Gives one an insight of a busy harbor for sure.
ReplyDeleteGreat image. Love the colors. Where is this? Is this Philadhelphia?
ReplyDeleteI think it's beautiful! I like that little bit of shimmering light on the water.
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy, business first...
ReplyDeleteNice shot.
I like both bridges and boats, so it is fine with me!
ReplyDeleteSorry to say it doesn't look dreary to me, I love the way the water sparkles, it's a great shot!
ReplyDeletese que c est beau !!!!
ReplyDeletewonderful dear James!
ReplyDeleteThere is a nostalgic atmosphere in this shot!
Léia :)
Intriguing shot of the ships, James. It reminds me of old photos I've seen of Navy ships headed out to sea.
ReplyDeleteLove the shimmer too.
ReplyDeleteHi James
ReplyDeleteI like this shot for the reasons you said.... nice to see some of the rougher sights. I was walking today by a local canal where an old cotton mill is being demolished... I will show the pictures at sometime I'm sure.
Excellent pic, looks like controlled chaos.
ReplyDeleteAll the best

It does look like a bus waterway. Pretty scene though and thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI seem to have gone in this ship somewhere.
ReplyDeleteAll that industry is interesting.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
A very busy waterway, no doubt. Very nice capture...love the bridge.
ReplyDeleteThe "trying" proved to be a perfect one! Love the glitter of the water and the scene reminds me of Long Beach.
ReplyDeleteGreat wide angle shot!
oh but the water is too sparkly to be dreary.
ReplyDeleteStunning & superb view! :-)
ReplyDelete- Pixellicious Photos
Such a nice soothing 'safe in harbour' scene.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the Carl Sandburg and Chicago comment.
ReplyDeleteGreat Shot!
Doesn't look dreary to me at all. It's nice to see that the waterway is so well used. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteSo much space in your waterly pic !!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous!
ReplyDeleteMy ABC & Watery Wednesday
Wonderful choice for a change up ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Very nice! It does look like a dark, dreary, stormy day.
ReplyDeleteYou succeeded in your mission, but the points of light do give it a certain vibrance!
