Home Again

As you can see I was standing in the shade from all of the wonderful old buildings in Prague's Old Town. The famous Tyn Church is in the center and our hotel was about 20 meters to the right of it.

This is where we stayed it was very nice inside and out

This photo was taken in front of the hotel facing the spot where I took the top photo.
I would like to welcome the new followers and thank the participants of Weekend Reflections. It looks like it went well while I was away. I took a few reflection photos in Europe that I look forward to posting.

The trip was wonderful but it's nice to be home. We saw so many interesting things and we ate some really great food. The weather ranged from mild to cold and we got a mix of clear skies, some rain and even a little snow.

We went to Prague first after changing planes in Munich.
After Prague we flew back to Munich and took a train to Salzburg.
After Salzburg we took the train back to Munich where we stayed for the final week of the trip.

Here is a short summary of Prague which will be followed by summaries of Salzburg and Munich.
1)Prague was fun but it was way too crowded and had too many tourist shops (sort of a Disneyland feel to it.) The buildings, bridges and views were really beautiful and our room was comfortable and came with a nice breakfast. The Christmas Market at Old Town square was great, it opened the day after we arrived.

Notable meals were goulash with bread like dumplings and kielbasa with mustard on a roll.

I'll be posting more pictures from this trip on my Something Sighted blog.

  13. I love the lighting on the first photo. Great angle on the second one, showing off the architecture of the building. The third one really shows of the narrow streets and the curve of the buildings. I like how each building is a different color, and I love the cobblestone streets!

  15. Welcome home James. I have been so looking forward to seeing your pics from your trip abroad. I was kind of hoping that there would have been some snow on the ground to enhance the historical architecture. From your pics above, the snow aside, you have not disappointed. Now you get to suffer through winter with the rest of folks. Ho! Ho! Ho!

  21. I'm glad you had a good trip.

    It is a dreamlike town.
There seems to be the tower lighted up by the day, in my very front.

Thank you for showing beautiful scenery.

Seeing your pictures , I can easily imagine you getting out of the hotel and immediately beginning to take pictures of every beautyful thing, and here, every thing is beautyful!!Ü I did not imagine there were so much people in december, but it's true tat now in Europe, people take more often very short holidays and travel through the continent. And, At Christmas time, people visit Xmas markets.
    Welcome back!

  25. Welcome back! Great shots. You can't beat central Europe at Xmas time, although I can't speak for Prague, as I've never been. I've heard it gets ridiculously busy in December.
