The Satterthwaite farmstead

I've been exploring Bucks County now that the weather is warmer.
This is three views of the 18Th century Satterwaite farmhouse that I found about five miles from home. The bottom photo includes the the rest of the farmstead. I recently found out that the oldest wood framed building in Pennsylvania is a short walk from my apartment. I'll post a picture in the future.

  2. Hi James, looks like a beautiful old house... too bad we can't see the property the way it looked back in the 18th century... without the electric and phone lines. Looks like it got a couple of additions over the years too ?

  6. Imagine what it looked like back in the 1800's without the power lines. Everything else must have been about the same...maybe a dirt road? Great shots.

  15. A big house is built on the very large site. And there is not a fence.
I cannot watch such a house in the Far East.

This scenery reminds me of magnificent U.S.A.

  23. It just screams, farm. I bet those trees were planted a long, long time ago.

  24. I like these light, wood framed houses, they are so different from our solid, brick ones. As I see they are resistant and durable as well.
Beautiful photos and a nice shadow pattern in the first one.
