Lately I've been exploring my creative side while trying to improve my photography. There are so many things to learn and I'm still trying to figure out my own photographic style. I think rust and a repetitive pattern is a good combination for an interesting photograph.
Very nice. I love patterns. Thank you James for your kind words.
ReplyDeleteInteresting shot and processing James
ReplyDeleteVery abstract if you ask me. I like the pattern in it. Well done my friend :)
ReplyDeleteVery cool the way just one of the bumps is in focus. How does one do that?
ReplyDeleteI like it very much.
ReplyDeleteI love creative photos, this one is very cool, James.
ReplyDeleteIt makes one wonder what exactly they are looking at.
Sunny :)
Wow ! that's just beautiful and very creative !
ReplyDeletesuperbe focus, j'aime beaucoup ce style de photos
ReplyDeleteThe problem with photography is that you have not only to be creative, but also very good in technology, to use your camera the best way.
ReplyDeleteI think that you're mastering the both sides, very well!!!
Very clever. I find that some of my best photography comes from when I have 'nothing' to photograph, and so I have to use my gray matter....
ReplyDeleteKeep it up!!
I think it would be better if you had focused on the 5th rivet ;-)
ReplyDeleteVery nicely done. Another trick is to use manual focus and try several different focal points. It's amazing how one will be a dud and another will be really good. If you have a tripod, try aperture priority and play with the DOF.
Imagine the poor person who had to set all of these rivets!
Isn't the 50mm a blast?
I like this alot! My favorite shots are usually taken by accident. Then I have to try and remember how I got them :) Kathy
ReplyDeleteVery narrow DoF... taken with a 50mm I assume? :) Love the repeating patterns and texture!
ReplyDeleteI like to see your creative side.
ReplyDeleteYou are going so well with your art side, I liked a lot your photography, always creative!
ReplyDeleteI feel that I can see already your golden touch, your style in your work. :)

*** By the way, last Saturday we did a day trip to Durbuy, by car about 1:30, not far away from here. The city is adorable, but really small. But a place for sure to explore with your camera , there are so many cool details, medieval details.:)
Fantastic, James!
ReplyDeleteRe your comment about forgetting your French at Bonjour Luxembourg - Rosetta Stone will solve your problem quite nicely!
Very interesting composition. I really like this. There's something about old rusty stuff that captures the imagination, isn't there?
ReplyDeleteLooks like an experiment with Depth of Field. Very artfully done.
ReplyDeleteSelective depth of field is amazing and you used it perfectly, almost hypnotically. The reddish brown monochrome tone is gorgeous. Keep experimenting for our delight...
ReplyDeleteThis is such a cool capture! Well done, James!
ReplyDeleteReally a fantastic and original result!
ReplyDelete:-)
Love this shot.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of 1 second in time.
This is the sort of shot that can arrest the viewer and set off THEIR creative side, too. I like it a lot, James. Rust is good, the shape of each rivet is good, the perspective of the straight line is good. The specific DoF around the point of focus is a great move for expanding your photographic eye.
ReplyDeleteBravo!
James you are doing very well, and it shows. Keep up the good work, take care, Anna :)
ReplyDeleteI love your creativity!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is different. Close, far, focused, blur, a little bit of everything.
ReplyDeleteWhile you're trying to figure out your photographic style, I'm trying to figure out my camera! A riveting photo, James; no pun intended. Honest.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Great one James.
ReplyDeleteI love this one James, I love how you focussed only one "bump".
ReplyDeleteAs you've demonstrated, you can't go wrong with either. Very interesting shot, James!
ReplyDeleteA very cool shot. I love the DOF and the color.
ReplyDeleteEstoy de acuerdo contigo.
ReplyDeleteTe salió muy buena. excelente.
Sigue buscando(tú estilo) que el que busca. . . encuentra.
Un abrazo.
interesting, indeed! I like what you did with the depth of field here too, it turned out great!
ReplyDeleteThis was very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI like your creative side. Beautiful photo!
