Camden Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 72)

Philadelphia, PA (Ben Franklin Bridge looking toward Camden New Jersey)

I wish the first lamp wasn't there because it was so bright and it blocked part of the bridge view.
Someday I hope to take a better pictures from this bridge. I took this one last month and despite the warm colors it was a lot colder and windier than I thought it would be. Plus the cars and trucks make the bridge shake. Next time I'll be more patient and maybe I'll even walk over to New Jersey and capture some Philadelphia reflections.

    Lamps are lamps - just part of the life of photographers :-)

    I love the angle of the shot on this one : there is a work on verticality that is framing the whole view that is very interesting... It musn't have been easy too take (well it would have been for me, as I suffer from vertigo, so I admire your courage...)

    This is a gorgeous photograph, James. I disagree about the nearest light. It needs to be there and it doesn't distract or obscure the image at all. Nice!

    Like you, I'd sometimes like to be able to rearrange reality to fit my photos (not that I'm comparing my paltry skills to yours). What makes this a lovely image for me, apart from the composition, is the warm hues of browns and lights.

    Love the photo James...with or without the light. That strong leading line in constrast with the horizontal skyline and the beautifully lighted vertical lines of the bridge....what's not to love? Fantastic.

    Well James, I think the light lamp doesn't take the charm and beauty in this picture.I don't understand much about photography, I always use my feeling, my heart leads me for the sense of art,and I like the lamp, I like the shot, for me it's perfect! :)
    Yesterday I was thinking of the way to have a blog changing things, mainly now when I want to take pictures.Sometimes I don't have my camera in my bag, and I see something special or different and I imagine many angles and "shots", as I could use my camera.Funny isn't it?
    I think about photography all day long!
    This bridge is outstanding, I hope to visit Philadelphia someday, it's a dream and I also want to come back to NY.

    PS. James - re my entry, I considered it in B&W and asked my sweetheart (technically more proficient, having been a pro at one time) and he voted for the color version. Maybe next time I should post both and have you vote. :-)

    No, the lamp attracts the attention to the bridge , and the bridge leads to the warm lights of the shore, so the eyes follow their way till the other edge, from a light to another..
    the result is a deep picture. But I can easily imagine the cold along the river!

    I like that lamp post, actually. I also really like the combination of the warm lighting and the white lighting at the top of the bridge...that's very stunning! I think you could have a lot of fun returning back to that bridge for the "just one more shot" excuse! It's a beauty!

    Cool place to shoot from, I didn't realize you could walk across the Delaware River bridges... must be quite a little hike to New Jersey... that's a big bridge...

    James, that first light sets the rhythm of the remainder as they appear to get closer together...

    I imagine that it was a bit chilly but you were successful in getting a shot with great perspective and focus. Yes, please go to the other side to see the Phily reflection.

    The festive twinkling and reflection of light in this picture is superb! Love the strong light in the foreground and then other smaller lights recede, leading into the depths of theimage! delightful!

    I took the skyline shot from the 8th floor balcony of the Glencairn Museum. I was surprised to see Philly...so glad I looked! It was so hazy, I would love to get up there on a clear day, in the morning or at night. But I guess you need to know someone to get some of those privileges.
