Newtown, Pennsylvania (Starbucks window)
Do you think this guy had any idea there was a camrea in his face? As you can see from my reflection I walked right up to the window and took the shot.

ReplyDeletethis is a wonderful portrait
ReplyDeleteif I was that guy I'd want a copy of this shot
at least he isn't driving
Great shot! He is oblivious! They all are! I had to slam on my brakes when a jaywalker suddenly stopped in the middle of the street. He was so engrossed in texting that he didn't move for a while.
ReplyDeleteThe old saying that God takes care of little children and drunks should now have people texting too.
Lost in text, not in translation, as reflections are universal. :-) Outstanding capture, James, well done!
ReplyDeleteLove your reflection photo, James. There he sits, at a window, knowing nothing of what's going on just outside. Texting his sweetie, no doubt!

ReplyDeleteThanks James for this fantastic site.
ReplyDeletePerfect shot!
When I just saw the photo, I expected that you know him.
As always, I love this:)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant, James! Sometimes here in NYC, someone will stop dead in their tracks while coming up the subway steps to look at their [Insert obnoxious device here], and the rest of us pile up behind them. Oblivious!
ReplyDeleteO what a sign of the times! To be connected you have to be disconnected! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteA great shot, James, and perfect in the b&w. I was going to make a comment about people always having their eyes on their phones, til I remembered I always have a camera in front of my eyes...LOL!
ReplyDeleteOh this is SO good! This guy was really into his text...
ReplyDeleteB.
That is awesome. I swear, your timing is exquisite. You always know where and when to hit the shutter to capture these candid oh so Human moments. This one speaks on so many levels. I love all the reflections, the little blurry lights coming out of your head, the slight double exposure juxtaposed against the clarity of the subject who is completely unaware of your concentration upon his concentration. Love the black and white. Hope all is well on the road...
ReplyDeleteI bet if you showed him the photo, he would be shocked, because I'm sure he had no idea you were there.
ReplyDeleteFun shot, clever, too, to not quite get yourself
ReplyDeleterevealed!

ReplyDeleteReally superb candid shot, James!
ReplyDeleteLove this shot. The black and white really does it, and your own reflection is so huge but so hidden.
ReplyDeleteLove it! The guy has absolutely no clue!
ReplyDeleteA great reflection shot
ReplyDelete- and his face is now "famous around in the blogworld "
Love it in b&W :))
Great atmosphere! Expresive face!
ReplyDeleteMy compliments and my regards from Romania!
As usual, those reflections are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteGreetings
So many people are doing this in the world. :-))
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!
Hi James,
ReplyDeleteHe looks sort of glum, he was probably obsessively re-reading the "Dear John" message he got from his former girlfriend who dumped him because he was spending all his time playing with his portable phone and not paying attention to her... probably a lot of such cases these days...
Hope all is well with you, was away in Germany for two weeks with no connection. But am back and hope to be back up to speed soon with photos and blogging... Are you back in California now ?
Hey James!
ReplyDeleteMy best regards from BUCHAREST - ROMANIA
He either didn't know or didn't care. Either way it is a real cool picture. I couldn't figure it out at first. I'm amazed at how clear he is.
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out how to put the meme badge on my site...any instructions???
ReplyDeleteThis is cool!
ReplyDeleteI've been busy the past weeks.
Just visiting James
Regards.
