La Lumière de Victoire! (Weekend Reflections # 195)
Budapest, Hungary (The lamp above his head is the reflection, it seemed to be in the perfect place.)
I saw this poster of Teddy Riner through a window in Budapest. Big Teddy is a Frenchman and the 2012 Olympic heavyweight judo gold medal winner. Two months after I took this photo, Teddy won another gold medal at the 2013 European Judo Championship in Budapest.
I called him Big Teddy because his height and weight are 2.4m (6ft 8in and 131 kg (290 lb)!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Weekend Reflections!
Our french Hero! and think he's less than 25 years old! I saw him once in competition, and he's really , realy tall! And as nice as tall! La lumière est vraiment bien placée, elle donne du sens à la photo, bravo! Happy summer!
The more I look at your shots and play with reflection shots of my own, the more fascinated I am! This one seems to take away any sense of depth perception...of knowing what is where. And combines two things - so completely not intended to be together - that end up telling a tale. So glad I found this space...and love how international it is as well!

ReplyDeleteI'll bet Big Teddy would appreciate your blog post today, James!
ReplyDeleteI like it even though it's rather an incongruous light to be shining on him! that's rather tall for someone in that sport, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteHe's in the spotlight, where he should be!
ReplyDeleteNice one James! Good eye spotting this one.
ReplyDeleteA heavy winner!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely BIG Teddy!!! Nice shot! I like the placement of the lamp above his head!
