Beauty Obsession Gone Bad (Weekend Reflections # 269)

Bristol, Pennsylvania

Is there a line that separates real and fake in the quest for beauty? That was what came to my mind when I saw this plastic narcissist. I guess that's a line that I don't need to worry about crossing. :-)

I'm going on vacation so Weekend Reflections will be on auto-pilot for a few weeks!

This is the place to see and share reflections. Click the rules tab above for more information.

A Reflection =  An image given back by a reflecting surface.

  1. Same here - a line I won't ever worry about crossing! One of the many things I love about New England, is that natural seems to be the norm...even the women don't mind aging! Enjoy your vacation!!

  6. LOL, I sure won't be getting anywhere near that line. Nice shot, I like that you kept a portion of the 'real' subject in the frame. Have a great vacation.

  8. Hey, my hair looks like that every morning when I get up ... and no effort, intention or money went into it. Am I cool or what? But, my hair isn't blue nor are my nails ... disappointing :(
This is a great, laughable reflection, James. Narcissist or not,. it is fun!

  11. I had the same problem-- was that some fashionista going over the edge? Then reality kicked in.

  13. Il manque juste le téléphone pour prendre une photo de l'instant et l'envoyer à toutes ses amis par tous les réseaux sociaux auxquels elle est inscrite, cette poupée fashion victime... ^^

That is really a excellent picture, and not only on the technical side that you obviously mastered : the symbolic is really apealing.
