The Rodin Museum (Weekend Reflections # 318)

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

 Reflections at the entrance of La Musée de Rodin.

The "Rodin Museum opened in November 1929. A unique ensemble of Beaux-Arts architecture and a formal French garden in which to experience the sculpture of Auguste Rodin, the Museum was designed by French architect Paul Cret (1876–1945) and French landscape designer Jacques Gréber (1882–1962)."

  8. Am a fan of Rodin, and have seen his work in an open air museum in Antwerp, about 1 1/2 hr. from where I lived in my childhood. Architecturally. a beautiful entrance here. Grand, but not bombastic:) And the reflection adds so much to the whole view:)

  15. Cela doit être un musée très agréable. C'est en étant aux US et en visitant San Francisco que j'ai découvert qu'il y avait plus qu'une sculpture du "penseur" de Rodin dont quelques-unes aux US.
