Venice, Italy
This is a night time reflection of The Church of Saint Roch/Chiesa di San Rocco. It was reflected in a shop window. You can also see the reflections of people in front of the church.
Now, look closely above and to the left of the church door. Can you see the ghostly face? It's actually one of many harlequin masks that were inside of the shop. I know the mask isn't a reflection but I like what it adds to the picture. :-)
I just realized that this is the second time that I have posted a reflection of this church. The first time was four years ago. The photos are from two different Venice trips. If you want to see the first one from Weekend Reflections # 126 Click here.
Happy Reflecting! Don't forget to set your clocks forward this weekend. (For those of us whom it applies to.)

love the ghostly reflection of the mask..it really adds to the whole photo!
ReplyDeleteSuperbe effet j aime bcp bravo ;o)
ReplyDeletecool..I had the whole photo backwards...I thought the view was from inside the shop with the mask reflecting(I know..I missed what you said about the mask not being a reflection). I hadn't realized that the whole scene was a reflection!!
ReplyDeleteI do see the 'ghost'! You've traveled to a lot of beautiful cities.
ReplyDeleteThis reflection is so perfect James, the ghostly mask is such a cool addition :) Loved the previous reflection of the church also!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see the mask until I read your commentary, James.
ReplyDeleteVery cool scene and reflection!
Have a Happy Weekend and thanks for hosting!
Peace :)
the one you took 4 yeaars ago is very different and you can se the makes better in it. Here you can see the archtcture of the beautiful building. Thanks for linking me in, I have just returned from a day out on the I.O.W. Have a lovley weekend.
ReplyDeleteCool reflection!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mood in your reflection. Am not sure why you think the harlequin face is not a reflection. Since the face/mask is reflected on something else (the wall of the church - since you have a good camera), me thinks that it's a reflection too, or?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jeanette. However the mask is not a reflection. It was inside of the shop.
ReplyDeleteThe church and the people are the reflections.
(The Mask) = was in front of me and behind the shop window when I took the picture. (The Church = was behind me but reflected in the shop window. :-)
This is very cool!! Love the ghost.
ReplyDeleteAm understanding what you are saying:) Even though it was in the shop in front of you - technically not a reflection, but the mask showed up on your photo as a reflection on the wall of the church. Of course, you took the shot, so you decide what counts as a reflection, and what not
ReplyDelete(please, don't take it personally, I have had this particular conversation more than once with hubby). Happy weekend!
That mask gives the reflection a spooky element.
ReplyDeleteThat's beautiful! Thanks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThat's an interesting reflection today, thank you for hosting!

What a beautiful church front. I never noticed the mask reflection until I read your post, my eyes aren't what they used to be.
ReplyDeleteYou know that you love a place when you return again and again. Beautiful reflection, James.
ReplyDeleteA bit difficult to find the ghostly faces but I like the picture.
ReplyDeleteEsprit es-tu là ???
ReplyDeleteJoke.

Ooooo ... mysterious. Faces on the walls of the church and people who look like they are running for sanctuary. Should be used for an illustration in a mystery book :). Fun and beautiful at the same time, James ...
