Venice, Italy
Sometimes it's best to get advice from an expert. People have been buying fish at this market for over nine hundred years.
Have a great weekend!

"Street photography, a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge."
How funny! We choosed the same subject today; But your picture is far better than mine (probably your camera is much better too); Great shot!
ReplyDeleteYes buying good fresh fish is better done from an expert who has been doing it many years James. Thanks for hosting, stay safe and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteWonderful looking fish market. No wonder it has remained in business so long. Another fine photo telling a good story.
ReplyDeleteA fun moment to watch! The food markets outside are so typically European. That's we have to "miss" here. Have a great weekend, James, and thanks for the comment back last week. Maybe I should completely cut out any news to have more peace of mind, haha, Jesh
ReplyDeleteNice monochrome which tells a story.
ReplyDeletemagnifique. J'aime beaucoup la concentration du poissonnier dans son sa façon de proposer les filets de poissons, et le mouvements que l'on ressent très bien dans cette photo.
ReplyDeleteThank You
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a still out of a movie. The B&W really makes it.
ReplyDeleteThere's something right and good about the fish markets. Even the ones here in the U.S. where or near to where the fishing fleet comes in. Even in grocery store the fish is sooo much more interesting than hamburger and sausage, roasts and steaks. Where tourists come the selling staff generally like getting their pictures taken. But I generally ask so it would be posed and not qualified for a "Street" catch. Like my guy a few weeks ago, fishing for golf balls in a golf course water hazard.
ReplyDelete..
Nine hundred years! Wow.
ReplyDelete900 years...few can beat that record. I love the photo.
ReplyDeleteOn sent bien dans ton image la communication entre le poissonnier donnant toutes les explications nécessaires à la cliente attentive. Difficile à faire passer par l'image.
ReplyDeleteOver 900 years? Wow! Jeddah has a huge fish market too, with a daily early morning auction.
