Un petit coin de parapluie? (Weekend Street/Reflections # 261)

Doylestown, Pennsylvania

You can't stop the rain from falling, but you can always open an umbrella or two. Seeing these people sharing umbrellas reminded me of how frustrating it can be if there's a height difference. I'm 8 inches taller than my wife, so I speak from experience.😉

                                            Have a great weekend!

"Street photography is a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge.

  1. I think the couple at the back have the better idea with their umbrella.

    Learning to Carry It Alone

    For years our life
    was a duet
    The rhythm of
    Two voices.

    Some parts were yours
    Others mine,
Even our counterpoint was in lovely accord resolved.

    Now this silence
    feels almost sacred,
the space between words remembers you.

    Daily tasks
    Remain quiet rituals
    That I observe
    Alone.

    Grief teaches
    not only sorrow,
    but an unseen strength:
    how the soul steadies itself
when the familiar hands are gone.

    This long conversation
    with absence,
I begin to sense your presence
    not in form,
but in the stillness that listens back.

    And so I learn
    to become whole again—
one act of grace at a time.

  3. I rather like seeing the rain. Unlike our snow, I don't have to shovel it.

  4. I prefer rain to snow also, mainly because I don’t like being cold.

    Interesting picture.
