Historic Newtown Church

This is yet another old presbyterian church near my house. This one was erected in 1769 and repaired in 1842. It has a graveyard and little garden in back.
I decided to join the Window Views meme because if you look at the window in the top picture there is plenty to see, not only in the church but also in the reflection.

So can you see all of it?

  9. Windows within windows are always interesting. The church looks to be in good shape for having last been repaired in 1842...but I'm sure they've been keeping it up since then!

  16. I like both the church and the reflections. I can see the stained glass and also an old-fashioned lantern. I like churches like that that look clean and simple as though they dont like the house to get in the way of the message.

Now to check out this meme. I adore windows ...

  17. Your first photo is fascinating, James. There really is so much to see but of course, it's the stained glass window that really takes center stage.

  18. What strikes me, the doors are on the side of the entrance. I find that unusual.

  23. that's an interesting church. Was the front portico an addition?

I really love stone buildings, and this one was done well.
