I've noticed that it's not easy to get an unobstructed view of the sky in Philadelphia. I'm okay with that since there are so many interesting things to see.

The clouds in these photos just make the picture that much better as do the items in each one. The second one is my favorite one. It looks like they are telling you a story :)
ReplyDeleteAnd especilly the second one - I liked that a lot.
ReplyDeleteI love that second shot - with the statues. Very interesting. I wonder what they represent?
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots, James! Beautiful skies and I do love that second shot! Wow!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Sylvia
Those are fabulous shots! That first one makes me a little dizzy though and the last one, well that's an interesting angle!
ReplyDeletehappy thursday james.

James, thanks for your comment on Monochrome Weekly Theme! Your posts (the last 3 I looked at) are marvelous! I love the geese and the industrial building... :)
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, James. I really like the first one - the perspective on it is quite nice.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the second shot!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's magnificant and the motive keep me thinking - just LOVE it loud!!

I love them all, especially the first one. I too would like to know what the second one represents.
ReplyDeleteGood ide, James, to shoot the sky and use something i the foreground to enhance it. These are very nice!

Donna!
I have some great shots of the skyline of Philadelphia from the Camden, NJ waterfront! :)
Wow! The first shot is splendid:)
ReplyDeleteThe second image of the gaunt statues fascinates me, James. What do they represent?
ReplyDeleteLove the first photo, with the church spire and the streaks of sunlight, it is almost ethereal.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. The first one is my favorite - perfekt!
ReplyDeleteWonderful captures, James! I must confess, I spent most of my time looking at the detail on the clock tower and the first set of statues. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe sculpture in the middle is quite powerful. I like the first one as a Skywatch shot; great angle and architecture.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots James.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs

Love the history James. Curious about the name of the building and the status though. They are very intriguing.
ReplyDeleteI always loved seeing City Hall when I was going to college in Philly. Did I tell you we used to call it the big wedding cake?
ReplyDeleteYou always have an amazing angle on your photo that makes them very unique. Its a shame the three guys got in the way of your sky shot, oh well it looks great anyway... snicker, snicker
ReplyDeleteThis is my main blog.
ReplyDeleteYour clouds are dramatic. I love the second photo, it tells a story!
Lots of interesting buildings and statues to serve as foreground to sky watching. These are some great images!
ReplyDeleteYour Philly shots are amazing. I would love to know more about that monument!
ReplyDeleteLovely angles. I'm learning from your photography.
ReplyDeleteVery dramatic clock tower! Very scary statue - what is the story of this - looks like a depressing thing you see in Europe - inquisition or something. You are right - very interesting views in Philly!
ReplyDeleteI'd rather see buildings against the sky. Dramatic!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea, original post!
ReplyDeleteI especially love that first picture. Beautiful archetecture and perfect skies!

Don't let the obstructions hold you back, the pictures are just great!
ReplyDeleteThey are all awesome. Love the sky in the first one. Love the creepiness of those statues in the second one and love the horse's backside in the last one. I saw his crack. Hee hee.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful all three...makes one want to go there.
ReplyDeleteLove all three ... a bit of 'art' against your lovely sky views. Thanks for dropping by my 13 sky views and playful mosaic experimentation at Happily Retired Gal ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Great shots!
ReplyDeleteI know Philadelphia only through movies and tv. I already saw the first building, which I find impressive and beautyful. Your two other pictures are beautyful as pictures, with interesting perspectives and angles but the second one shows a quite strange statue or monument. The way you show it makes it even more dramatic..What is it talking about?...
ReplyDeleteYou take awesome photos James. I love the lacy veil that covers the head of the tower.
