Triple Philadelphia Eagle Skywatch

The eagle and lamp strut their stuff in front of a beautiful Philadelphia sky. These are three views of part of the bridge that I was standing on when I took these pictures. The eagle is the national bird of the United States, and Philadelphia was the birthplace of the United States, so images of eagles can be found all over the city. Philadelphia's NFL football team is also called the Eagles.

  3. James, awesome sculpture! Looks like the plane in the last shot is gettin' ready to fly right into its mouth! And thanks for the history memory jog! Most folks would've thought Jamestown, VA or Plymouth, MA...HA!

  6. Cool! In the last photo it looks like the eagle might be thinking about making that plane a bit of his lunch, snap it right out of the sky...nummy. ;)

  25. Aa terrific skywatch offering this week. The third frame eagle seems to keep close watch on the plane, but which is not true as the plane is so high above them.

  26. Really like the first shot the best. I do agree - it does look as if the eagle may have a nice snack in the last shot. Nicely done.
