Be Prepared!Last week's snow storm was a first for us so we weren't prepared. We ended up digging our car out of the snow with an ice scraper and a kitchen broom. While on one of my walks I saw how the locals deal with snow.
Vicki won't let me get snow removal equipment like the ones in the photos above so I'll have to settle for a snow shovel. Now that the snow is gone, let's see if I'm smart enough to buy the shovel before the next snow fall. Stay tuned.

Well it looks like you town is prepared for snow removal at least. LOL we used a broom to get the heavy snow off our truck and then let the sun melt the ice off.
ReplyDeleteThe last snow was light enough for a broom, but get the shovel cause the heavier snows won't be budged with a broom. And don't wait til snow is forecasted or the shovels will be sold out.

ReplyDeleteCertainly a lesson learned quickly! After a big snow, most people are not likely to be caught without a shovel again around here.
We just had 16+ inches over Chrismas Eve and on through the Saturday following Christmas. Most of it pretty heavy. Snow blowed a few times, shoveled as well. Doesn't generally put a halt on too much around the Twin Cities area. Slows things down a bit waiting for the plows, but unless blizzard conditions prevail, things keep on keeping on here.

ReplyDeleteYes buy a good snow shovel asap! We keep an old broom for sweeping up light dustings of snow as well. And how about a container of Ice Melt? Thats great for slick walkways...And how about snowshoes so you two can get out and about and enjoy Mother Nature!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. Don't wait until the next storm is forecasted, get your shovel now, and some ice melt while you are at it! Shovels become hard to get when snow is in the forecast. I bought a little "trunk shovel" thinking it would help if I needed to clear a path from the door for the dog, but she just ran right through it. I was able to drive out after they plowed the parking lot, but my neighbor used my shovel to get some snow from in front of his car.... Always BACK into your parking spot when it is supposed to snow too, easier to pull out than back out!

Your town is certainly equipped to deal with the white stuff. You could always get a lawn tractor or an ATV with a plow since your wife won't let you get a full-sized tractor. Cheers!
