A cold Day in Philly

I took this picture a couple of weeks ago in Philadelphia. There was steam coming out of the ground so I thought it would make a cool effect with the people behind it. I had to get pretty low to the ground to take this shot. I can only imagine how funny I must have looked. Especially since the front of my pants were soaked by the melted snow. :)

  10. This is a great shot James. But it reminds me of why I'm glad we live in Texas lol. Although they are predicting snow for Tuesday (it was 74 here Sunday, go figure). Thanks for sacrificing the icy knees to share this shot with us! Kathy

  12. Nice! The people behind the steam almost disappear.

I'm replacing my kitchen floor and purchased a set of knee pads that would have come in handy for this shot.

  17. Oh you are making me crazy!!! I am so glad I found your blog! What a great shot. It's wonderful to see a native Californian embrace my hometown with such relish and scope. The black and white is perfect and the steam over the figures on the right... well, all I can say is Great Eye!

  18. Being not a lover of B&W, my appreciation for this picture, against my bias, has obviously some added value.
Great choice and excellent framing, even the title is perfect.
