Paris Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 61)
Hello and thanks for keeping Weekend Reflections going strong while I was away!
This is another sort of busy reflection with the church(Notre-Dame des Champs) being the obvious focal point but a few other things to look for are the guy on the bike in the right corner, the mirror inside the restaurant reflecting the yellow tour bus and the green Chez Leon signs inside of the restaurant. After this leg of the trip I went to Brussels and my first meal was at the original Chez Leon where I had Moules- frites (mussels and fries). After Brussels we went to Lucerne Switzerland then we returned to Paris.
I'll be posting the Europe photos at my other blog Something Sighted for at least the next year so stop by and check them out when you have time.

The first thing I noticied in this shot was the word 'moules', maybe because I just love them! :-) Great photo, James.
ReplyDeleteTerrific reflections as always and such a beautiful place! It's been a long time since I was in Paris -- still miss it! Have a great weekend, James, and thanks as always for the weekend fun!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
A lot of greedy people in those comments! ;)
ReplyDeleteI like when it's difficult to see what's in the reflection, and what's real life. That makes the thing funy!
This is a really cool shot, James! So much going on - what a great reflection!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo. Great reflection shot James!!
ReplyDeleteI know this restaurant with good mussels and better beer served in a large, round glass, specially designed for it.
Have a nice weekend11
You have been in Brussels ? Should have given me a ring !
ReplyDeleteChez Léon is not the best, but it looks nice.40 years ago it was the best mussels Restaurant in Brussels, now it's only for tourists.
Lovely photo and interesting reflections James.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a grand holiday as reflected in your photos.
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture here James... You know that notre-Dame-Des-champs has a very important meaning for all the Templars treasure scavengers, don't you ? You did actually find it, I guess... Nothing is more precious that one of your pics... ;)
ReplyDeleteWow - what a fabulous shot!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting image of Paris, I especially like the guy on the bike and the yellow bus, and of course the church is gorgeous. Have a nice weekend!

ReplyDeleteWelcome back!:) You probably made oodles of pics. Next time when you go to Paris, also visit Musee de Picasso (if you like abstract art, it's a smaller museum of Picasso). To die for are the rolled up crepes filled with chocolate on a street catering stand.
ReplyDeleteJ'adore les moules à la crème d'ail! :-D
ReplyDeleteUnfair advantage taking gorgeous shots in Paris! Really splendid. You do the incomprable city justice.
ReplyDeleteCool how you got that mirror inside the reflection.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home!
Beautiful, romantic reflection and I love the business of cameo activities graced by the elegant cathedral!
ReplyDeleteYour old building is similar to the Christchurch Cathedral. Luckily it was not affected by the earth quake.
ReplyDeleteVery nice James!

ReplyDeleteThat yellow bus is almost a magic detail in this composition, very well done!
I'm curious about this restaurant, I've tasted for the first time this year those mossels and fries, mmm delicious!

Wonderful photograph!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! So much detail and life to appreciate and relish. And yes, that shaft of vertical light down the front of the cathedral and all the little details inside is so intriguing. I always think of layers of time when I see your urban reflection images. What a marvelous trip! And good for you going for the mussels and fries!

Incredibly busy yet appealing photo. Then again, it is Paris.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth : )
Thanks for pointing out the guy on the bike. He really leads us into the picture once he's spotted. A bit like "Where's Waldo" but so much cooler!
ReplyDeleteCe qui me plaît le plus, c'est l'inscription Moules qui dédramatise l'ensemble ! Bien vu !
ReplyDeleteI love it!
