I saw this old industrial building as I drove by and since I had a camera in my pocket I turned around. The reflection was a nice bonus. :)

A highly enjoyable mixture of old industrial relics, reflection and monochrome. Applause!

ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.

Ambiance industrielle, devenue magique par le reflet ! En noir et blanc, c'est parfait ...
ReplyDeleteI think this is beautiful, James. Is it naturally monochrome or did you make it so?
ReplyDeleteI like the way you captured this in black and white! Happy Weekend!
ReplyDeleteI loved it in b&w!
ReplyDeleteWonderful composition and beautiful reflections!

Looks rather depressive, although the reflections are very nice !
ReplyDeleteStrangely, the reflection seems to erase the building and to only keep the beauty hidden in the scenery..
ReplyDeleteTerrific depth of field in your photos, James... so clear. And yeah, the reflection is a bonus!
ReplyDeleteI think it is a mill or something. Great shot. :)
ReplyDeleteI like your B&W shots. This one is excellent and a reminder of times gone by!
ReplyDeletewonderful in B&W!
ReplyDeleteit's always a good thing to turn around :)
Very nice reflections.
ReplyDeleteI just love this my friend. Very well captured and in my favorite Black and White :) Excellent. James, with all the goings on with my hanai mom and her surgery I'm waiting until next week to get back into WR. So I'll be here next week :) Aloha my friend and have a good weekend :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome b&w reflection shot!
ReplyDeleteJames, can delete my entry #37? Something went wrong with it... When you click the link, 'blog not find' is shown.
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.
I just love old industrial stuff like this. Double bonus in that you made it b&w.
ReplyDeleteI drive by a site like this on the way to the beach. Lovely reflection!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Sorry, James, I meant 'can you please delete...'... I guess I'm not in the mood for typing today! :-) Thank you.
ReplyDeleteReally enjoying the black and white photos. Puts a different twist on presentation.
ReplyDeleteGreat vew.
ReplyDeletePerfect reflection. Love your picture as you present it in mono.
ReplyDeleteThank you for having fixed the link, James. :-)
ReplyDeleteYep. it pays to have that camera handy! I'm loving the b&w's too, James.

cheers from Uruguay :)
Such a wonderful old buiding, and gorgeous reflection! I am particularly fond of you b&w photos...:)
ReplyDeleteOld industrial sites are the best!
ReplyDeleteThe reflection adds so much depth to the weathered old structures! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteIt is a mysterious picture. Nice!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, with great tonal quality and quantity. Excellent reflexes to match the big picture.
ReplyDeleteWise choice on B&W here, James...
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteThose places have such powerful spirits in them. I can hear the cussing and the joking through the silence and the years when I'm in such a place.
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting composition! I like it in b/w, and a great reflection to boot!
ReplyDeleteHi James
ReplyDeleteimmagine particolare....
Buona serata :)
Myriam
Wow! Amazing. Really a beautiful shot James. Love the light and the reflections.
ReplyDeleteSuperb B&W photo!
ReplyDeletehave a nice weekend:)
A real beauty - it jumped out at me and said Wow! when I opened your site just now. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteHey James, looks like a great place... is it near Newtown ??? The conveyor going up to the top floor on this one is fairly short and quite steep. While I was in PA in September I found another site sort of like this but much bigger. The coal conveyor structure to the 11th floor was many times longer and ran at less steep angle... I went all the way up the old conveyor to the top of the building, then came down through the inside... an adventure ! All above comments are entirely justified, this is gorgeous in b&w...
ReplyDeleteYes, this is great in b/w. It provides a wonderful reflective moment!
ReplyDeleteAn impressive mean to measure current life and time for many factories indeed.
ReplyDeleteMay they last longer than a puddle after melting away. Please have a good start of the weekend.

A great shot and beautiful reflections!

ReplyDeleteI like the balance of light and shadow in this. It is tremendous in monochrome.
ReplyDeleteHi James, Fabulous photo. Great composition.
ReplyDeleteWonderful black and white. Feels like a time capsule photo.
ReplyDeleteLove this, James. It's such a great shot, and the wonderful reflection is a bonus.
ReplyDeletehello James~ this is a really nice photo. capturing this scene in black & white lent to the moment. we have buildings like this around here too. documenting these is a great idea. have a wonderful night.
ReplyDeleteMy first time here, hope you like my reflections...

ReplyDeleteIt is a great idea to have the reflections in black and white.
ReplyDeleteHi everyone! My Weekend Reflections post is up. Hope you can stop by for a look. :)

Very nice, James - and this is one of those photos that demands b&w vs color.
ReplyDeleteGood choice of black & white, I think. I have a river reflection too today but in colour - well, as much colour as winter allows...
ReplyDeleteThis meme attracts some very talented participants. Amazing how knowing you need a "reflection" keeps our brains on high alert. Well worth the drive back for this shot!
ReplyDeleteNice reflets of an old building.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Argentina
Hermosos reflejos de esta vieja fábrica.
ReplyDeleteSaludos cordiales
Wow. You have been posting some GREAT photos lately! Not that you don't usually. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour latest series is just particularly austere and beautiful.
What a terrific B&W, James! Of course, all your shots are terrific so I just repeat myself, but I do love this reflection and the B&W is perfect for the mood! Thanks, as always, for the weekend fun! Enjoy yours!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Great reflections is only one thing this photo has going for it. Wonderfully done!
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for hosting. I love this meme!
I love your black & white series! Especially this one. Great reflection :-)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend!
Beautiful b&w & that looks like a reflection on glass... great find!
ReplyDeleteI've had my WR pics up since yesterday & forgot to link up on your blog... I'm silly like that! =)
I'm with everyone else. I love this shot and the choice of black and white suits the subject and mood beautifully. It's great you have such a wide appreciation for photographic subject matter. The mental and physical sense of movement through time and space always speaks to me through your work.
ReplyDeleteJames, love the angles and the gritty, ageless study in black and white. The soft reflections of the bare tree is a great contrast to the hard textures of the concrete, steel, and gravel.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting the reflections...
Bises,
Genie
...and what a bonus that was - great reflections, great pic
ReplyDeletetres reussie j adore l ambiance de cette photo, bravo ;O)
ReplyDeleteThere is something appealing about old sites like this; a history hiding in the dust and cobwebs. Great shot.
ReplyDeleteDarryl and Ruth : )
Although it was not entered in Weekend Reflections, perhaps because the author may not know about Weekend Reflections (yet!) there is a simply awesome reflection photo from Rome here :

Maybe if enough of you drop by over there to see it, he will realize where the spike in visits is coming from... here at James fine meeting place !
Belle photo en noir et blanc, joli reflet. Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love that old building, James, and what a setting! I remember seeing one in Oregon, maybe a year ago, but for some reason we didn't stop. Beautiful balance with the reflection.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful - and the water seems to have lost its fluidity.
ReplyDeleteFascinating photo.
