En attente d'un retour à la vie normale ?(Weekend Street/Reflections # 9)

Paris, France

In February of 2020 this woman was waiting for a bus, but I imagine she's now waiting for a return of normal life.

Compared to a lot of places, life in my city has remained fairly normal. No lockdowns have been enforced, people enjoy the beach and go to restaurants. Masks are optional outside but most business require them to be worn inside. Thankfully, we haven't had a major Covid problem here. Less than 5% of the population have been infected, and for those infected, the survival rate is nearly 100%.

Hopefully everyone will enjoy freedom again soon.

Now you can link reflections and/or street photography.

Please no posed pictures, portraits, animals etc. unless of course there is a reflection.

"Street photography, a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge."

  1. To see a woman alone in the dark is always a little frightning to my eyes, as I would not like to be there , alone , in the night.. But yes, the picture can give birth to many stories and make the imagination work .
Here , lockdown is back, masks are needed, I got my vaccin two days ago, restaurants are closed and lots of them are for sale.
So yes, I'm waiting for a return to normality, but definitely not alone in the night..

  2. You captured the loneliness which we feel. Happily, we have been vaccinated and are ready to fly out to see our granddaughter celebrate her Quinceañera, delayed for more than a year because of COVID-19. If all merchants would voluntarily require masks to be worn there would be no need for the hand of government to become involved.

  3. A striking shot. Amazing how a simple action like waiting of the bus can trigger many different stories

  5. Nice night shot, James. I wouldn't like sitting on a bench alone at night. Paris is a safer town though, than is our Houston, Texas.
Reminds me of picking our daughter up from sitting on the sidewalk in front of the Denver bus depot. She took an earlier bus than we had planned. This was in the 1900's before cell phones and it was getting dark. One person had volunteered to take her to a shelter.
The same daughter lost her husband about a month ago to COVID-19 and a Heart Attack. Mrs. Jim lost her sister to the COVID-19 and a Stroke. Numerous other relatives have had it, here and in Louisiana. One cousin there was hospitalized for over two months but she is supposed to go to rehab very soon.
Both Mrs. Jim and I have had our vaccinations, we finished with them in February.
    Thanks for hosting!!

  7. Been locked down for most of a year. Masks required everywhere. But we have managed and even enjoyed the time. Lots of cooking and other diversions available.
    Vaccines becoming available.

  9. She looks tired but still alert. I know the feeling. I used to take the bus all the time.

  10. l'agitation nocturne dans les villes est très limitée en France * couvre-feu * vaccination lente et nouveaux variants * heureusement que "le monde continue de tourner"
    bon weekend
