Smile, your on Candid Camera! Great people pictures. The man in the second one reminds me of Sherman Hemsley, who played George Jefferson. This maybe before your time! Sunny :)
It's really cool James, we can play with our imagination.I can imagine a busy and worried guy at that first shot and the second one looks more light, maybe he is listening some music in his ipod! Léia :)
*** By the way James, during your vacation will you keep the weekend reflections posts on Fridays? Please, forgive me , I'm anxious here, just I was preparing some posts and I was thinking about it!
i like how the two pictures are responding one to an other. In the fisrt, the shadow seems to give the way to follow for both. The two men, the two attitudes.. Great couple!
Love these James, especially the first one. So intent. Do you shoot in one particular area of Philly? Getting ready for Weekend Reflections, finally did something other than water lol. Kathy
Both great. I love the top one. Makes me think again of a 50s movie... or a reporter walking to the Daily Planet!
I saw a couple people on Sunday I wanted to photograph, but I could not get them without them knowing it, they were homeless folks, and the scene to me was very emotional. I was not sure how the one gentleman would react, so I chose to remember it in my mind!
It should be easier to go to Philidelphia incognito in November: a big scarf and a knit wool hat should do the trick! lol Less easy must have been the treatment of the first picture...
I like these...it's amazing how everyday activities such as walking down a sidewalk can create such appealing photographs. These are the things so often missed in real life. (unless you are obsessed with a camera like all of us) I really like these!

ReplyDeleteI too take sneak shots...from my lap, from my hip, or even straight on from a discreet distance...
ReplyDeleteI like these b/ws very much.
deux photos magnifiques, superbe b&w, avec une preference pour la premiere et la gestion de l'ombre. BRAVO

Two splendid pictures. They need hanging together or even sharing the same frame.

I still haven't gotten brave enough to take pictures of people yet. I'm always afraid they might get hostile!
ReplyDeleteLove these B&W! They look like shots from years gone by.
ReplyDeleteThese are crisp monos James. Like the effects, neat.
ReplyDeleteExcellent shots, the first one looks like something out of the 50s in the deep south.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I do not know what are your reflections w ends; O (
ReplyDeleteI like the work of the first.
ReplyDeleteNeatly dressed like him is beautiful.
And suits the image of his hat.
