The Golden Hour in the Golden State

It was great to be back in California even with all of the rain and a small tornado. It was wonderful to see friends and family. Thankfully it didn't rain 24/7 and I was able to take several pictures. This is the Huntington Beach Pier at my favorite time of the day.

I'll be posting more of the California pictures here and at Something Sighted.

  1. Hi James,
It looks so lovely and warm compared to the chilly east. The reflection of the sunset on the windows really is golden.
    Sunny :)

  4. I'm so glad to see you back. We saw on TV that there was a storm in California, with flood in some places..:-((

Your perspective is great, but what I like is this so special light, so warm and wraping..

  6. Ahh...James! How beautiful! It is Sunday night at about 11:30...My husband and I spend the late afternoon and evening in Huntington Beach. After walking on the pier and photographing a friendly pelican and people and drummers...we indulged in a drink at Dukes. How fun it is to come home and see the pier again in such a short time. And, how gorgeously you photographed it!
I hope you had a good time while here in so. Cal!

  21. Welcome back to the blog world! How beautiful are the sunset colors! I so look forward to your photos, maybe some places I have not been to in Orange County! Did you go to the Orange Balloon Park? When the weather gets better, we would like to ride and watch the sunset!

  24. California....

It is felt for the dreamworld to me only by the sound of the words.
    Gold is good for California.

It is admiration of my eternity.

  26. Yet another magnificent shot of MY world here with a clever title ... I love the 'two amigos' watching the sunset ... the kewl little hummingbird at Inspiration Point and think I'm finally all caught up here! We've got RAIN again ... with mudslides in the foothills causing mandatory evacuations. So sad ...
    Hugs and blessings,
