Libreria Acqua Alta (Weekend/Street Reflections # 4)

 Venice, Italy

Libreria Acqua Alta is a very unique bookstore in Venice. It's a must-see if you like books, boats, and cats. I took a picture of the boss trying to explain something to his human employee. 😸

If you'd like to see what the shop looks like click HERE.

Now you can link reflections and/or street photography.

Please no posed pictures, portraits, animals etc. unless of course there is a reflection.

Click here for street photography examples and inspiration.

"Street photography, a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge."

  1. I hope you'll accept the fact that a "street" might be a "quay" sometimes... :)

  3. Great "street"photo, James. I see what you mean about the store owner. What a unique book store. It's a place I could spend lots of time browsing.

  4. That cat has something very important to say. It must be frustrating that everyone else speaks a foreign language.

  7. To see the shop from the inside is revealing. Love the idea for the boats! Did snow fall in southern Calif.?

  8. WOW! That bookshop is a marvel Very clever to have the books in boats so they float although i am not sure how you would find a book you are looking for. it might be at the bottom of a bath!! well worth seeing James. Thanks for hosting stay safe and have a great weekend

  13. Great photo of the boss and his employee.Only the idea that your shop can get a load of water and that your books must be protect by boats to keep them floating is something to bizar to believe but the reality is different indeed. Link to that youtube movie is fantastic.

  14. I remember that one year ago, you were in Paris and we ate at Polidor Restaurant. it's a nice souvenir our walk in Quartier saint Germain and our visit at Derolle. Today is quite different for me. I'm sick with covid. Going from one room to the other is a terrible effort. Spring arrives shyly. I hope I can take a walk before the next lockdown.
