Fenced in Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 32)

I walked a few feet past the mill in my last post and came across an old stone arched bridge. There was a wonderful reflection of the sky and trees in the water under the bridge but there was a fence that blocked my view. So I decided to make the most of it. The view is looking down the chain link fence. You can see the blurred reflection of the sky and trees as well as the reflection of the vertical lines of gate that runs across the arches. You might also notice the two seed pods on the fence and the reflection of one of the arches. It's easy for me to decipher this strange photo because I took it. I hope it translates well.

Aged to Perfection

I love taking pictures of ruins and old abandoned buildings. This one is in Tyler State Park in Newtown. It's part of an old homestead that's now used seasonally as a hostel. I posted another picture of it on my Something Sighted blog. I took the top photo from inside of the building.

An Old House Nestled in the Tall Grass

I took this picture in Tyler State Park, about a half of a mile from Schofield Covered Bridge. I'm not sure but I think it's used as a ranger station.

Old Time Reflection (Weekend Reflections #31)

Hello everybody. I'm back and ready for the reflections! During my break I decided to start a six month mostly black and white project over at my Something Sighted blog. Hopefully I'll be able to improve my black and white photo skills during that time. When that project is finished I'll start another project that I'm really, really looking forward to (more details to follow). :)

Spring leaves in front of an old red barn
An old red barn behind the leaves
I drove about a mile along a creek on a dirt road and discovered this old barn that looked like it was converted for other uses. I like the green and red especially the green from the moss covered roof. I can't decide which focus I like better (on the leaves or on the barn). Solebury Township looks like an interesting place. I plan to explore it more in the future.
I'm taking a break from blogging for a few days. I plan to return Friday for Weekend Reflections or perhaps a little sooner. Have a great week everyone!

Another Abstract Reflection (Weekend Reflections # 30)

I took this picture in the same park as last week's Weekend Reflection photo. It wasn't the best time of the day for photography but I had my camera and I noticed that this rock's reflection in the creek looked better than the rock itself because of the bright sun. It reminds me of something I just can't figure out what. :)

Spring Colors are Comming into Focus

I took advantage of the beautiful weather last Saturday and went for a walk. I took these pictures just down the road from where I live. It seems like the dreams of spring have become reality. I'm not a fan of hot summer weather so now is the time for me to enjoy the outdoors.
I was trying to find a nice balance between bokeh and depth of field and I wanted the colors and light to tell a lot of the story.

Amish Horses

I bought some homemade root beer at an Amish farm a couple of weeks ago. That's where I met these two horses. I noticed that the horse on the right has a beard that looks just like his owner's.
I laughed and as you can see the he didn't see the humor, but I think the other horse cracked a smile. This photo is at a weird angle because I was driving(on a farm but braked for a second) and the horses were on the passenger's side of my car.
This is my Face of the Week post.

The Dance

I took my 50mm lens with me to Tyler State Park a few times this week. It's a large park with plenty of wooded trails and a creek. These two trees were standing alone in a grassy clearing and for some reason they remind me of a dancing couple. What you see is all that could fit in the lens from where I was standing. I like the way this looks in Black and white but I like the horizontal layers of color behind the trees even better.

A peak Inside of the Old Fashioned Diner

Remember Jennie's Diner from last week?

This is Bud, he's a truck driver who likes to talk about politics.

This is a candid shot of Bud before I decided to ask him if it was okay to take his picture.

The diner is small and probably typical for it's era. It's a popular spot for truckers. The guy sitting on Bud's right noticed my not so hidden camera. Checkout the reflections on those stools. :)

I hope you enjoyed the peak. Please relax and have some pie and coffee.

Sun and Trees in a Puddle (Weekend Reflections # 28)

The most amazing things can be found in puddles. Step off of the curb and into another world.

-Malyss commented about the reflection being in black and white. I think It only appears that way because it was a hazy day and the sun was burning through the clouds. (so the grey sky is being reflected along with the silhouettes of the branches)

Happy Easter!
