Venice, Italy
While walking in a particularly dark area in Venice, I turned a corner and saw this man sitting alone at a table in a restaurant. Coincidentally I took this picture exactly eight years ago, on December 2, 2014. It was during a wonderful trip to London, Florence, Venice, and Paris.
Have a good weekend!

A nice photo, and the resonance of sharing it on the same date does carry some sort of meaning. It seems that we have both published the same basic photo in completely different circumstances. Mine is in a park in Honolulu in the early morning, yours is in the urban setting of Venice in the evening
les hasards peuvent engendrer de beaux moments
Sometimes it's nice to be alone but he looks like he's contemplating life.
Do you think he came for some drinks?
We were in Venice in August, 2013. Our cruise started, Air from London to Venice, ship to Athens via the Black sea (Ukraine was nice then). We had Mrs. Jim, daughter, and granddaughter, and me. Search my blog for "Venice to Athens" or the likes.

Sentimental photograph!
Dinner alone is a lonely event.
Looks pensive. What's on his mind?
Great picture. It tells a story.
Fabulous capture James. A glimpse into a moment in time. Thanks for hosting and I hhope you have a wonderful week ahead.
Great photo but still not a Hopper in loneliness.
I love that small square of light in all that negative space. very attractive image.
You traveled almost all the beautiful places! Another more Eastern Eur. choice would be Berlin, Vienna,Prague The perfect look-in capture:)
James, you asked what that plumbing pipe home made instrument in my street shot sounded like. It was not as percussive as the Pipe Guy, but was more like a multi-tone didgeridoo. Hope that helps.
What a wonderful photo :-D
