Walls closing in (Weekend Street/Reflections # 281)

Venice, Italy

I've pre-scheduled a few posts because I'm not sure if I'll feel up to blogging over the next little while. Yesterday, my wife and I received some very unexpected news from a specialist. In short, she needs to undergo what the doctor described as one of the most difficult and dangerous operations on several levels of her cervical spine to remove a tumor of unknown type. The best-case scenario is a painful six-week recovery. The worst-case scenarios are unthinkable. I'm not usually a very emotional person, but the sudden shock of this news has really hit me. I tend to overanalyze everything and imagine multiple possible outcomes, which has been quite overwhelming.

Prayers are welcome.

                                            Have a great weekend!

Paris after dark (Weekend Street/Reflections #280)

 Paris, France

Wet streets, glowing lamps, and the quiet rhythm of bikes cutting through the night. Pure City of Light magic.

Would you hop on a bike and ride through Paris on a night like this?😜
