Un éclaboussure d'humour ? (Weekend Street/Reflections # 233)

Paris, France

On a sunny March afternoon at a café, François' wife and daughter were lost in their coffee chat—until François plopped a newspaper hat on his head and belted out, "Vive la France, la Bastille est prise!" Raising his glass, he sloshed water everywhere, dousing his wife’s arm and soaking the table. His daughter turned beet-red, while his wife snapped, "Slow down, Mr. Hanriot—it’s only March!"

Improvisation ? (Weekend Street/Reflections # 207)

Paris, France

I couldn't figure out why she stood there holding a box over her head. Then I made myself laugh when I thought maybe she had forgotten her umbrella and wanted to be prepared for the inevitable rain.

Balade le long de la seine (Weekend Street/Reflections # 119)

Alone with his thoughts and the sound of rain. That looks like a good place to walk and think.

Un Peu de Magritte ? (Weekend Street\Reflections # 94)

 Paris, France

Is it just me or does the man on the left look tiny?

I guess it's all about the perspective.😄

Happy Veterans Day!  Have a great weekend!

Une femme en train de fumer (Weekend Street/Reflections # 80)

Paris, France

Healthy vs unhealthy habits.

Smoking cigarettes and eating too much ice cream (Berthillon) is bad for you.

Walking and bike riding is good for you.

I don't smoke or ride a bike, but I walk a lot, and I like to eat ice cream, toujours avec modération.😇

                                             Have a nice weekend!

I saw this guy near Victor Hugo's house and wondered if I'd gone back in time.

Dans mes rêves, c'est toujours la Belle Époque à Paris.

56 Rue Saint-Louis en l'Île (Weekend Reflections # 580)

Paris, France

Still on Île Saint-Louis
I was trying to do some street photography, and I lucked out with a reflection, actually more than one if you count the one on top of the car. Speaking of the white car, it's also part of the reflection from last week.

Happy reflecting!

À l'envers (Weekend Reflections # 475)

Paris, France

The man and his computer desk are actually reflections on the mirrored ceiling of a perfume shop.  The wooden display cases are also reflections.
You may or may not remember this photo from last year. This time I flipped it upside down for a different perspective. In reality, I aimed my camera upward, but now it looks as if I were looking down. ;-)  You can see the original HERE.

Happy reflecting!

Reflections de Parfums Frédéric Malle (Weekend Reflections # 426)

Paris, France

I took this shot through a window of a perfume shop in Paris, I'm glad I decided to stop and look up because the mirrored ceiling was full of reflections . The green sortie/exit sign is not a reflection but I think everything else is.

Have a great weekend!

Comme à Lisbonne (Weekend Reflections # 239)

Paris, France                                                                       Le Marais

This photo brings back great memories for me. My camera was wet so I walked into the first open doorway to dry it off. It happened to be the door of a little place in the Marais called Comme à Lisbonne. After I dried off I couldn't resist trying an espresso and one of their delicious Portuguese pastries called pastéis de nata. After my snack I was beyond content, almost blissful, and as I walked out I snapped this street/reflection photo.

Have a good weekend!

Le BHV (Weekend Reflections # 230)

Paris, France

One night last March I was watching ice skaters in front of l'hotel de ville (city hall) when I saw the BHV sign (BHV = Bazar de l'Hôtel de Ville) reflected in the ice. BHV is a department store.

Bon Weekend!

Joyeuse Saint Valentin (Weekend Reflections # 229)

Paris, France                      The Stravinsky Fountain

When I took this shot last year, I thought it would be good for Valentine's Day and for Weekend Reflections. I can't believe that  I actually remembered to post it.

"The Stravinsky Fountain is a shallow basin of 580 square meters located in Place Stravinsky, between the Centre Pompidou and the Church of  Saint-Merri. Within the basin are sixteen works of sculpture inspired by Igor Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring, and his other major works. The black mechanical pieces of sculpture are by Jean Tinguely, the colored works by Niki de Saint Phalle."

Paris, France                                                  (A reflection in The Stravinsky Fountain)

In Weekend Reflections # 199 I posted a different reflection that I saw in this fountain. This reflection seemed to look better flipped upside-down.

Can you believe that Weekend Reflections has been around for four years? Thanks for participating! :-)

I hope you have a really great weekend!

Crossing Pont Saint Louis (Weekend Reflections # 207)

Paris, France  (looking down at wet concrete on a windy, rainy day)

This puddle reflection isn't as clear as last week's because the sidewalk surface is rougher, the wind was blowing and it was raining.

After I finished snapping pictures of their reflections, this group of tourists seemed a little confused. I just smiled and went on my way. :-)

 Have a great weekend!
