This is where we stayed it was very nice inside and out
This photo was taken in front of the hotel facing the spot where I took the top photo.
I would like to welcome the new followers and thank the participants of Weekend Reflections. It looks like it went well while I was away. I took a few reflection photos in Europe that I look forward to posting.
The trip was wonderful but it's nice to be home. We saw so many interesting things and we ate some really great food. The weather ranged from mild to cold and we got a mix of clear skies, some rain and even a little snow.
We went to Prague first after changing planes in Munich.
After Prague we flew back to Munich and took a train to Salzburg.
After Salzburg we took the train back to Munich where we stayed for the final week of the trip.
Here is a short summary of Prague which will be followed by summaries of Salzburg and Munich.
1)Prague was fun but it was way too crowded and had too many tourist shops (sort of a Disneyland feel to it.) The buildings, bridges and views were really beautiful and our room was comfortable and came with a nice breakfast. The Christmas Market at Old Town square was great, it opened the day after we arrived.
Notable meals were goulash with bread like dumplings and kielbasa with mustard on a roll.
I'll be posting more pictures from this trip on my Something Sighted blog.

I see that I have one more place to go - you have convinced me.
Well back my friend. TBK is glad that you had a great time and it sounds like you and Vicki had a great time. :) Wonderful photos my friend :)
Welcome back, it's so nice to see you, Vicki and Lucy again. No matter how exciting a trip, it's always good to get home, glad it was a fun time.
I love the old architecture, the amazing details. Tyn Church is awesome. I look forward to your upcoming posts.
Sunny :)
Lucky you to have been in Prague.
Great pictures.
Welcome back, James. Three great photos...the Tyn Church is gorgeous bathed in light. I especially like the last shot of the city street...such charm...
la première photo est magnifique, avec cette lumière sur le monument, grandiose
Welcome home. I can't wait to hear all the news and see the photos. It will make me even more eager to get back over there!
These photos looks so classic Europe! Love it.
love your photo's, hope the trip was just as nice.
The golden light shining on the Tyn Church is splendid! What beautiful walkways through the old town. I can't wait to see more...keep them coming!
The buildings are giving a different type of atmosphere compare to where you are :o)
I love the lighting on the first photo. Great angle on the second one, showing off the architecture of the building. The third one really shows of the narrow streets and the curve of the buildings. I like how each building is a different color, and I love the cobblestone streets!
Welcome home To you, Vicki and your small but beautiful menagerie. Your shot are spectacular as always, James. I look forward to more of the beauty you always provide for us.
I hope your back is doing well.
Welcome home James. I have been so looking forward to seeing your pics from your trip abroad. I was kind of hoping that there would have been some snow on the ground to enhance the historical architecture. From your pics above, the snow aside, you have not disappointed. Now you get to suffer through winter with the rest of folks. Ho! Ho! Ho!
I envy you. The trip sounds fantastic and your pictures are too.
Hey, glad to hear you had a great trip... even if it turned cold here in Europe recently... I've been meaning to get over to the Czech Republic and Slovakia one of these days... Can't wait to see your reflections...
Welcome home! It's good to have you back! Your shots are very nice and I look forward to seeing more! I love the old world architecture.
Welcome back! Great photos! I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.
I have not been there so I will just admire your beautiful photos!
Love the great architecture!
I'm glad you had a good trip.
It is a dreamlike town.
There seems to be the tower lighted up by the day, in my very front.
Thank you for showing beautiful scenery.
Greetings.
WOW, wonderful place.
Seeing your pictures , I can easily imagine you getting out of the hotel and immediately beginning to take pictures of every beautyful thing, and here, every thing is beautyful!!Ü I did not imagine there were so much people in december, but it's true tat now in Europe, people take more often very short holidays and travel through the continent. And, At Christmas time, people visit Xmas markets.
Welcome back!
Welcome back, wonderful pictures and nice summary of your trip. I was lucky to see Prague in the early 90s and I understand what are your saying about crowds and tourist shops.
Welcome back! Great shots. You can't beat central Europe at Xmas time, although I can't speak for Prague, as I've never been. I've heard it gets ridiculously busy in December.
WONDERFUL pic!
cool...
I wish, i could be there.
:)
I love that...
Welcome back. Glad you had a good time in Prague. We visited just a year ago and stayed just around the corner from where you did. Such a beautiful city.
Beautiful and lovely shot !! Great post..Unseen Rajasthan
Hi James, good to have you back with so many memories! I loved Prague and München, I can't remember Salzburg, I was too small!
Awesome photos James. Glad you had a good time and are back home!
Missed you, too, though I was 'absent' for a while, since I have been sick. Salzburg (only been there once ages ago) looks beautiful and so squeaky-clean.
Welcome back, James! It's great to know that you and Vicki had a wonderful time. Thanks so much for posting these wonderful pictures of Prague! Your hotel and the other buildings are so charming — even the lamp posts! Though I do understand your 'Disney' evaluation of it.
Welcome home James, Vicki and of course Lucy! What lovely photos. Would love to visit one day.
Wonderful shots. Great place. Thank you for sharing James!
Just got back too from a long vacation.
