Industrial Waterway

I've been posting lots of rural pictures lately so I figured I'd mix it up with a dingy, smog filled, watery city scence. *I should add that it was really a beautiful day when I took this, but I'm tryng to create a dreary mood for this photo.

Nice. It does have a gray look to it doesn't it. Could be my mindset recently but looks almost wintery.:)

Oh the smog! *Cough, Cough*
I love the business of the waterway. A very cool picture.

You have a lot of barges going up and down that river. Busy like ants, I like that even if it´s dingy like you say.

I think Carl Sandburg would have written a 'Chicago'-type poem for this photo. Good one!!!

A very appropriate title. Looks very busy too.

Love the procession of boats (barges?) slowly coming and going along the river. Perfectly framed by the bridge, great atmosphere.

I like this. It is real and gives perspective and balance to the other reality represented by clean, bright, rural images.

Your description is so apt! Gives one an insight of a busy harbor for sure.

Great image. Love the colors. Where is this? Is this Philadhelphia?

I think it's beautiful! I like that little bit of shimmering light on the water.

Intriguing shot of the ships, James. It reminds me of old photos I've seen of Navy ships headed out to sea.

Love the shimmer too.

Hi James
I like this shot for the reasons you said.... nice to see some of the rougher sights. I was walking today by a local canal where an old cotton mill is being demolished... I will show the pictures at sometime I'm sure.

It does look like a bus waterway. Pretty scene though and thanks for sharing.

The "trying" proved to be a perfect one! Love the glitter of the water and the scene reminds me of Long Beach.
Great wide angle shot!

oh but the water is too sparkly to be dreary.

Such a nice soothing 'safe in harbour' scene.

Very nice! It does look like a dark, dreary, stormy day.
