Leading Light (Weekend Street/Reflections # 274)

London, England

One man. One briefcase. A thousand unanswered questions. Why was the light leading him to the mysterious doorway?

Earlier this week, I took a free Myers-Briggs personality test on 16personalities and was shocked by its accuracy. It all makes sense now!πŸ˜€ Feel free to click the link above if you're interested in your personality type. The test takes about 10 or 15 minutes.

Street photography is a genre that documents everyday life in public places. The public nature of the setting allows the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge.

A Sandy Serenade (Weekend Street/Reflections # 217)

 London, England

The Thames River was low, so this guy made a couch out of sand and sang to the people walking by. His tip bucket filled up quickly and then he and his couch disappeared with the rising water.

I took this picture twelve years ago and can't remember what he was singing.

London Calling (Weekend Street/Reflections # 93)

London, England

The man was on Great George Street walking toward Westminster Bridge.

The phone box reminded me of the title track of an album I had when I was in high school.

It's also the title of this post.πŸ˜„

Kafkaesque (Weekend Street/Reflections # 51)

London, England

After walking around taking pictures for several hours, I remember being hungry and wishing I could trade places with the guy in the window.  He had probably finished his dinner and was bored, wishing he was outside taking pictures.😏

Have a great weekend!

Bienvenue Γ  ZΓ©del (Weekend/Street Reflections # 41)

 London, England

He would be a good spy because his legs seem to blend into the wall. I'm a better spy because I was able to take his picture undetected.πŸ‘€πŸ˜Ž

Westminster Abbey at Night (Weekend Reflections # 532)

London, England

Same as last week but this time Westminster Abbey is reflected in a different window at night. I think this was a travel agency window. Notice the very blurry Big Ben poster (not a reflection) bottom left.

Have a great weekend!

Savon Blanche Leigh (Weekend Reflections # 530)

London, England

The women and the Art Nouveau poster were reflected in a mirror inside of Brasserie ZΓ©del.
The poster is an 1899 soap advertisement. The soap was called "Savon Blanche Leigh." The only Blanche I've known was my grandmother. I guess it's a name from the past. I should mention that the gold line that runs across the women is a hand rail for stairs and is not a reflection.

Cheeky Portrait (Weekend Reflections # 517)

London, England

While walking past a night club I noticed a strange portrait inside that seemed to follow me with its eyes. I think it actually winked at me while I took a picture of the reflection of the brick building across the street.

Happy reflecting!

Victoria Street at Night (Weekend Reflections # 504)

London, England

I was still standing across the street from the Itsu restaurant featured in last week's reflection photo. After I snapped that one I turned and noticed this reflection in a puddle. I remember thinking that I'd better be quick because the guy crossing the street will probably step in the puddle and ruin the reflection. The red semi-circle is The London Eye and there is also a partial reflection of Westminster Abbey.

Happy Reflecting!

The House of Commons,1833 / Busts (Weekend Reflections # 502)

London, England

In this part of the National Portrait Gallery the walls are reflective in the space that divides the rooms.

I don't know who these people were but they were obviously important enough to have their busts still displayed centuries later. I did notice that the women were placed above the men. I wonder if there is any significance?

Happy Mother's Day!

A Dark Street in London (Weekend Reflections # 247)

London, England

I was in a hurry to get back to the hotel when I took this shot, but I couldn't resist the reflection in this glass building.

Have a great weekend but don't forget the sunscreen. :-)
