Echoes on the Current (Weekend Street/Reflections # 264)

 Frenchtown, New Jersey

He brought his cello to the river's edge, as if its sound might weigh less than his memories. Unlike his racing thoughts, the water flowed steadily in one direction. As he played, he wondered if music could reshape the world—or only the one who dared to unleash it. When the final note faded, the river remained unchanged, the world unaltered. But he was not.

Un Restaurant Provençal (Weekend Reflections # 447)

Lambertville, New Jersey

Manon restaurant.

A hand-painted restaurant sign reflected in the restaurant's window. I'm not sure what style of dress the woman is wearing or what southern French food she is carrying, but it looks very traditional. The menu looks good.  Hopefully, I'll sample it someday. :-)

Happy Reflecting

A mirror reflection at a farm market in New Jersey. She probably thought I was doing a selfie.

Sir, is that a house on your head? (Weekend Reflections #432)

Lambertville, New Jersey

I decided to mix in a little street photography with this reflection.

Warm wishes on a very cold weekend!

Prallsville Mill (Weekend Reflections # 372)

Stockton, New Jersey

This is a reflection of an old mill that dates back to 1720. It's on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River.

Starting next week Weekend Reflections will be on auto-pilot.
I'll be away until December 16th. I'm bringing my phone but I'm not sure how much internet service I'll have access to.

Swimming in Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 354)

Lambertville, New Jersey

The flowery fish decorations were inside of the chocolate store. To me it looked like they were swimming in the reflected trees. Or maybe they wanted to swim over to the green building across the street which is also a reflection.

Happy Reflecting!

Head in the Clouds (Weekend Reflections # 350)

Lambertville, New Jersey

Is this guy's head in the clouds?  This is a jewelry store window. Everything is a reflection except for the white bust displaying a colorful necklace.

Sakura Express Illumination (Weekend Reflections # 270)

Princeton, New Jersey

This man seemed to have a glow about him as he sat looking out the window of a Japanese restaurant. He probably didn't realize that he was surrounded by reflections.

A belated Happy Thanksgiving! I'm still on holiday. Have a great weekend!

Weekend Reflections will be on auto-pilot for a few weeks.

Frenchtown Left Bank (Weekend Reflections # 264)

Frenchtown, New Jersey

This is a reflection in a shop window in Frenchtown, NJ. The shop is called Left Bank. At first my eyes were drawn to the Eiffel Tower painting with the umbrella-carrying Parisians. Then I noticed the reflections of the buildings, trees and cars but my favorite reflection is the man who happens to be superimposed on the body of one of the people in the painting. Can you see him? Look at the base of the Eiffel Tower and above the cars. He's on the left side of the tower but on the right side of the speed bump sign. Oh, and he's wearing sunglasses.

Thank you for all of the wonderful comments and anniversary wishes last week!

Enjoy the weekend!

Left Bank Reflection (Weekend Reflections # 252)

Frenchtown, New Jersey

It took me a while to remember where I took this shot. I still don't remember the name of the shop behind this window, but the shop across the street and in the reflection is called Left Bank.

Have a nice weekend!!!

Reflection in a glass Ball (Weekend Reflections # 242)

Frenchtown, New Jersey

I almost missed this little reflection in a glass ball in the window of a beauty salon. If you look closley at the center of the ball you should see a brick building, cars, blue sky with wispy clouds, trees, power lines and me or at least my silhouette. The ball was part of a beauty poduct display. The bottle on the right side of this photo is labled "HEMPZ", but since I took this picture in Frenchtown I thought is was okay to crop out the H. :-)

Bon week-end!

Windows in Windows (Weekend Reflections # 224)

Lambertville, New Jersey   (Reflections of the tops of the buildings across the street.)

Last Sunday I was knocked unconscious  (for a few seconds)  by slipping on ice and I've had a cold all week but I'm recovering.  I hope your week was better than mine. I can't wait to get out of the house and take some pictures. :-)

Have a great weekend and be careful if there is ice where you live especially if you aren't used to it.

Towards the Sunset (Weekend Reflections # 87)

Cape May, New Jersey (Sunset Beach) A pool of reflected sunshine next to jetty and an old shipwreck in the water.

Hopefully I'll be on the road headed towards the sunset when this post comes out but I'll probably be still waiting for the movers to arrive. Weekend Reflections is on auto-pilot until mid June. I'll be posting from the road at Something Sighted when I get the chance. Maybe from St. Louis or Oklahoma City, Santa Fe or a small town that I've never heard of? Westward Ho!

Pepsi and Turtles (Weekend Reflections # 86)

The Boardwalk Wildwood, New Jersey (The turtles and fish are part of a mural that's reflected in the window of a diner) If you look closely you will see a large Pepsi cup, stools and other things inside the diner.)

A couple of things:
1) May 14th will be the second year anniversary of Newtown Area Photo which seems like a good time to change the name Weekend Reflections. It's pretty much been just Weekend Reflections for a while anyway. Thanks for the support and great comments during the last two years! I'm moving back to California next week and I'm taking the long way home so Weekend Reflections will be on auto pilot from May 20th until mid June.

2)Weekend Reflections will live on but I'll be posting snapshots from the road and later photos of California as well as other places to my main blog Something Sighted .
Please stop by and say hello.

Near the End of Bulls Island (Weekend Reflections # 76)

Stockton, New Jersey (Bulls Island State Park)

The weather was beautiful last Saturday so Vicki and I decided to take a drive along the Delaware River. The Delaware River divides New Jersey and Pennsylvania so we made stops back and forth between the two states. That's Vicki in front of me enjoying the scenery. New Jersey is on the left and Pennsylvania is on the right. It was a nice snow covered walk to get to this spot and once again we had it all to ourselves.

Frenchtown Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 59)

Have fun with Weekend Reflections while I'm on vacation! I plan to be back in a couple of weeks. Hopefully by now I have some photos of my trip on my Something Sighted blog. Then again maybe I'll have to wait until I get home to post them.

I took this shot last winter in a cute little town called Frenchtown on the New Jersey side of Delaware river. This old fashioned barbershop was closed so I decided to take advantage of the reflections from outside. I was wearing a hat so it's hard to tell from my reflection if I was due for a haircut or not. This is a pretty busy photo with lots of things to see so I hope it works. Have a great weekend!

Clinton New Jersey (Weekend Reflections # 56)

The Red Mill at the other end of the water has a long and interesting history that began in 1810.

ATTENTION: The next four Weekend Reflections will be pre-scheduled because I'll be away on vacation. I'm not sure how often I'll have Internet access while I'm gone, but I'll try to post a few photos on my Something Sighted blog. The theme of my other blog is changing from mostly black and white photos to mostly photos of Europe. The new theme will be a mix of black and white and color and probably heavily weighted toward Paris.
