Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
No, it's not spring yet. I took this shot last April about a month before this brasserie opened for business. There wasn't much to see inside but there was a nice reflection in the window.

A Modern World (Weekend Reflections # 189)
London, England (Millennium Bridge)
This week's reflection is on glass at the end of The Millennium Bridge. I was facing The Tate Modern Art Museum and Saint Paul's Cathedral was behind me.

A Balboa Island Bridge (Weekend Reflections # 95)
Balboa Island, Newport Beach, CaliforniaI guess I could have titled this "Reflections of the moon and four lamps". :)
You might see this photo again over the next few days because I'm going to link it to Louis Lavache's Sunday Bridges meme and Franius' Night Shot meme. Great places to visit especially if you want to share your bridge or night photos!

Ghostly Reflection (Weekend Reflections # 83)
Newtown, Pennsylvania (Tyer State Park)Happy Easter!
It was a gloomy day. I looked at the bridge and there wasn't any one around but while I took the picture the woman suddenly appeared like a ghost. :)

My Favorite Park and My Favorite Bench
Looking Left

Looking Right
I haven't had much time for blogging or taking pictures lately but yesterday was such a beautiful day so I decided to walk in the park near my apartment. It's a big park with several entrances and plenty of wooded trails. I took my point and shoot camera and clicked away. The two photos above are straight out of the camera snapshots of one of my favorite spots. It's nice to see how this place changes with the seasons. Most of the time I get to enjoy these views all to myself except for the occasional dog walker or horseback rider. I dedicate this post to my friend Malyss in Nice France who has a daily blog about benches. I never really noticed benches before I started following her blogs "Chronicals from the shore" and "Benches on my way"

River Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 74)
Philadelphia, PennsylvaniaI took this shot last month. I like the way the lights on the bridge work with their reflections to make what looks to me like a mask.
This will be my entry for the Sunday Bridges meme too.

Camden Reflections (Weekend Reflections # 72)
Philadelphia, PA (Ben Franklin Bridge looking toward Camden New Jersey)I wish the first lamp wasn't there because it was so bright and it blocked part of the bridge view.
Someday I hope to take a better pictures from this bridge. I took this one last month and despite the warm colors it was a lot colder and windier than I thought it would be. Plus the cars and trucks make the bridge shake. Next time I'll be more patient and maybe I'll even walk over to New Jersey and capture some Philadelphia reflections.
This will be my Sunday Bridges entry too!

Cold and Lonesome Road (Weekend Reflections #71)
Newtown, Pennsylvania~I took this shot because I liked the angle and curve of the road. I also like the contrast between the road and snow.
I thought the jogger was crazy to be out in the cold but then I realized that he probably thought the same thing about me. :)

Philadelphia Belle and Philadelphia Ben
Penn's Landing Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-The riverboat is named Philadelphia Belle and the bridge is named Benjamin Franklin. I think they make a cute couple. The river is the Delaware, this side is Philadelphia Pennsylvania
and the other side is Camden New Jersey.
You can tell that it was cold and windy by the snow on the ground and the blur of the waving flags. When the wind is blowing it's hard to get a shot that's not blurry even when I use a tripod.
The other day I said I would give some tips about night photography. I still haven't taken a photography class or even read a book about it yet so keep that in mind.
I'll just share what I do and I hope it helps others.
1) use a tripod
2) use the camera's two second delay
3) try to take your time and not rush the shot
4) try to take more than one shot of the same things (because it ups the chance of getting a good one)
5) never touch the camera or tripod while the picture is being taken
6) use manual settings
7)wider apertures and higher ISO equals more light while smaller and lower equals darker pictures
8) try shooting the same thing with several different camera settings(to see which is best)
9)study and learn from other people
That's about all I can think of right now. I'm hoping to get a couple of photography for my birthday next month so I'll do an update post if I learn something new.
I'm always happy to learn so if anyone has tips or critiques about my photos please let me know.
This is my Watery Wednesday post.

Old Glory (Weekend Reflections # 48)
Look at the stars on the flag and you will see that the sun reflecting on the water below has multiplied them. I took this photo from The Lumberville-Raven Rock Bridge. It's a foot bridge over the Delaware river that connects Lumberville Pennsylvania to Bull's Island which is in New Jersey. So I'm not sure what state I was in when I took the picture, (New Jersey is on the left and Pennsylvania on the right.) However I did know which way the wind was blowing. :)"Weekend Reflections" rules are simple:

A Bridge in the Trees
Maybe it leads to a tree house? Just kidding but from this angle it sort of looks like this old bridge could be up in the trees instead of just surrounded by them.More bridges can be seen here at Sunday Bridges.

A Troll's view (Weekend Reflections # 42)
This is different type of bridge reflection. I was under the bridge taking pictures of this reflection when I heard a couple walking and talking on the bridge above me. I was reminded of the stories that I heard as a boy about trolls under bridges. This time it was only me trolling for reflections. With the exception of the leaves in the top left corner and some floating patches of algae every thing in this photo is a reflection on the water. I turned it upside down because I think it looks better this way."Weekend Reflections" rules are simple:
1)Post a photograph taken by you that contains a visual refection.

Van Sandt Covered Bridge

I saw a covered bridge for the first time just last year. It was the Schofield Ford Bridge near my house. Now it's sort of a hobby to find and photograph them. This is another Bucks County covered bridge in Solebury Township. Vansandt Covered Bridge was built in 1875 and it's supposedly haunted , some people say that a ghostly baby can be heard crying from time to time. I don't believe in ghosts and the bridge seemed very peaceful to me. Infact the whole area for miles around is beautiful. This is my second Sunday Bridges entry at San Francisco Bay Daily Photo.

Watery, Outdoor New Hope Bridge Views

The focus is on the bridge railing
The focus is through the railing
Believe it or not this is the same river as last Wednesday's post, what a difference a few miles make.
Believe it or not this is the same river as last Wednesday's post, what a difference a few miles make.I don't really know for sure what the bridge's name is, but I was standing on a bridge above the Delaware River between New Hope Pennsylvania on the right and Lambertville New Jersey on the left. As you can see I was fighting with the sun while taking these, but the came out okay I think.
The drive to New Hope is so beautiful, I really need to find some places to pull over next time so I can take some pictures.
This is a Wednesday triple.
