Tribal Streets

The people series continues.

I like the way this picture looks in black and white but the young man was such a colorful character I think the color version should be shown too.

Check out the earlobe.

He's colorful alright! So glad he doesn't call my house "home!" And, OMG...his ear! Brilliant capture!

waouhh, je préfère la version couleur, le b&w manque de puissance, mais la version couleur superbe

Colorful is an understatement, I'll skip any further comment on this guy... You was right to post the color version of this very good portrait.

I see you are going all out for the people shots. The colour on the top one is great, don't know what they think those ear 'disks' will look like in 40 years. Great that he posed for you.

I wonder what he's going to look like when he's my age LOL. Both photos are great my friend. Well done. Getting close and closer to your vacation :) WOOT!!!

It's a great picture indeed.
Did you notice there is a guy with a dog at that corner and I think he is looking at you!

Of the two I think I prefer the colour one. I always think that colour deals better with images that are visually busy (as this one is) whilst monochrome focuses on shapes and relationships. There are some splendid shapes in the picture too and the monochrome does emphasis these : so maybe two different photos.

John said it all for me...what on earth will he do with those ears later? Or maybe he'll still have the insert...

But anyway, your photos are superb, and I can't tell which one I like better.

I love this shot, colorful, yes! I'm always amazed what these kids do to themselves. And always wonder what they'll look like in their 60's and 70's.

Oh my. Tribal indeed. A medicine wheel and all. Did you ask him if he was wounded in battle?

In the color version, I tend to look around in the back ground. In the black and white version I tend to focus on the man. It's neat that you put the two of them up to compare. Great job. I like the composition, and the subject.

I see a bright tattoo to his neck and arm.

He is a courageous terrible man.

I have two minds when I look at B & W photos. One, it makes me think of when I was a kid and those were the only kind of pictures we took. But now, when I look at them, I realize that for those in the photos, the skies were blue, the grass was green etc. Regardless, they are always captivating James. By the way, how do you get to stick your name in the photo? It's a nice touch.

BTW, if you were wondering what Olivier was saying above, let me know, I will be glad to traslate for you.

I definitely liked the photo in color, and immediately noticed the young man's ear! Yikes...he is indeed, a very colorful character.

There are just so many interesting people out there, I never get tired of people watching.

I like both versions. In the black and white version it almost seems as if he is super-imposed on the background..or that the background is but a back drop that he is placed in front of. In the color photo he looks better intergrated into the shot.

Very nice!

Good Photo James. I like the B&W one out of both of them
