PS - I don't have a macro lens...not in the budget for me, so I reversed my 50mm prime lens that I got for Christmas. I need to buy an adapter so I don't have to hold it in place while I shoot. :) I have been playing with it all morning, kind of learning the technique. It is so fun not having a job...except when I think about the budget!
Get the book Understanding Close Up Photography by Bryan Peterson - you will never regret it. It has lots of tips on how to shoot close up shots. (He explains the difference between close up and macro.) That is where I learned the reverse the lens tip. He has the most beautiful shots using this technique. I am going to buy an old Canon FD wide angle lens and a reversing ring adapter until I can get a macro lens. (I just keep getting outbid on ebay or missing the bid deadline.)
That's the problem with Valentine's day: a lot of people here think it's just commercial crap between Christmas and Easter and that you show someone that you love them in many and daily ways... Nice post though.
Really love the first two especially. The contrast, simplicity of layout, and the soft glowing backgrounds are very effective. I like Valentine's Day even if it was made up by Hallmark. Very sweet message.
Oh yeah, really, Harbor and Adams? I really miss those big full moons over Back Bay.
Don't let the bloom fall off of the rose just because Valentine's Day is over.
