This is a reflection of a farmer with a team of horses or mules plowing his field near the road. There's also the top of a silo, a tree and the side of my car. It's all reflected in my side view mirror.

What a great reflection! I'm surprised to see horses being used.
I'm just going to have to steal your great creative idea! Ha-ha!
Very cool picture.
Happy weekend!
☼ Sunny
great shot as always! I really love road shots.
Happy weekend
Hard to believe that the fields get plowed that way, such a simple (get challenging) way of life. Beautiful reflection.
What a wonderful pastoral scene of the old ways, reflected in the mirror of a modern car.
Great that both can exist side by side.
Love the countryside and the reflections. So classic.
Beautiful capture James.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Truly nice country side. Great reflection!
you composed this so perfectly
your mirror is a wonderful frame for the scene
there is something about the sense of moving away from the farm that makes the photo so touching
The modern frame of your car for an old fashion farm scenery..Great!
Do you remember the movie "Witness", with Harrison Ford?Same mood!..
An awesome rural scene framed perfectly in that mirror!
I'm assuming that might be an Amish farmer with his horses.
Mine's on my photoblog this week - Carletta's Captures. :)
The undulation lets me feel Nature.
Yes. It is very quiet scenery.
Thank you, JAMES.

Great composition! And the tree adds much to the scene. We went through PA last weekend and saw some of the beauty in the hills along I-78.
Another great shot James! I like the title too because you are not only "Looking Back" in your mirror, it seems that you are looking back to an earlier time and place of history. I simply love looking back to my past through your lens. Amish Country was always a favorite of mine too when I lived there. Makes me misty-eyed...
Nice of the countryside. :) It's nicely framed by the mirror.
What a lovely, peaceful scene you have captured James. Well done.
Nice one James. I must carry my camera in the front seat from now on.
Nice contrast of low and high technologies in the reflection.
Fabulous to see that team of horses at work. Nice shot, James.
beau reflet, comme quoi des fois il faut regarder derriere soit ;)
That is just lovely. A beautiful capture - I hope you were stationary at the time or at least someone else was driving ;-)
I saw your reflection too! Nice contry side settings.
Pennsylvania Dutch ?
Love the "old/modern" references in this reflection! Very clever and thought provoking!
I love your photo reflection ! makes me "homesick" for Michigan, but I just like to sit and look at it, thinking ~
Love this shot! You know, every time I try one of these, it never comes out as pretty. Must be the scenery...
Cosmo Girl
Nice one! I'm always on the lookout for a rear view mirror photo. Posted one a while ago I wanted to show you, but I can't find it!
Lovely composition and scenery, beautiful clear reflection too.
Wow James, that is a beautiful reflection and scenery. LOve that sight, very peaceful
Great capture.
So much, in such a little space. And it's all pretty too. I love the country setting.
Beautiful reflection shot. Love the country setting too.
Have a great weekend!
I love your "looking back" reflection! The countryside is beautiful!
P.S. I hope you weren't driving!
A beautifully framed rear view! It is a little like reflecting on a wonderful memory!
I like it that the horses are moving away from you, and you are moving away from them. Adds a poignancy to the image.
Ploughing with a team of horses captured in a
modern mirror and what a great perspective! This is
a unique view of a work of art in the farming
tradition.
Who knows, they might be nearer than they are. Wishing you a wonderful start into the weekend.

WOW!
!LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this reflection!
But I would-it's country! :)
Junie
What a wonderful reflection! That certainly looks like an enormous field to plow with a team of horses. A grand look back.
Views in the rear mirror, often gives wonderful results ! here is the proof !
Hi James, what beautiful and original idea for this pic!
I like these kinds of reflections. But mine never seem to turn out so well. :)
A terrific view of the countryside capture at a car rear view mirror. Good job!
Great shot. I love that it is so clear. And, remember, objects in mirror are closer than they appear.
It's early spring. He's made only a few passes. It's last year's stubble. He's just making a new start. I'm a farm kid from Kansas. I used to drive a semi from Columbia, Missouri to Newcastle, Delaware. I loved taking those two-lanes out of Harrisburg. These farmers and their teams always used to make me catch my breath.
I do believe the farmer and team are reflected again in the window of the rear door of the car.
How do you do it? I think every single one of us has taken one of those 'rear view mirror' shots - but yours is so much more!!! You show an entire WORLD in there!!
This is so nostalgic... perfect capture! love it!
Gorgeous! Wonderful capture
Ciao
I've done this with the side view mirror too. Unfortunately it doesn't look anything like this!
Well done James!
That is beautiful!
That's fabulous. I love how crisp the reflection is.
I had to take another look--what an extraordinary sight! The horses--the silo--so beautiful. Fill my eyes to the brim, James.
A beautiful reflection of where you've been, James. A peaceful country scene.
Reflecting back reminds me...hope all is well with your back.
be well, be Happy ;)
Very nicely done. Photos done in car mirrors could be a whole meme in itself. I remember a self portrait I did once in one that was one of my top faves, as it had a wonderful scene also. Nice capture!
How many horses were there? Did you frighten the horses when you drove past?
I happen to go past a horse and rider yesterday, but my camera was too slow.
Unbelievable shot!
One of the best shots into the sideview mirror I've ever seen, James! :)
This is just fantastic James!
James, love this type of shot. Good one.
I sure don't see this scene in so. California! What a beautiful sight it is...Beautiful composition, James!
For when are you planning your vacation to Brussels ? If I am home we could have a drink together. Waterloo is only 15 km from Brussels it's rather considered as a suburb. If you want to read more about Brussels and Belgium you should go to my travel blog http://gattinatravels.blogspot.com/ In the sidebar you will find an index.
Where cars and tractors meet...
For me there is no problem, I am retired anyway, and have all the time of the world ! The only thing is I might be on my yearly holidays in Egypt at that time to escape the horrible weather we have here in November (hopefully it's still nice for you in October !) This year everything is a little different because I will become a grandma in November ! So I can't make big plans. My son and DIL live in Amsterdam.
It would be very nice to meet ! Antwerp too is a beautiful town !
BTW don't you have an email ? It's easier to communicate.
Great picture!
