I guess you could call this an ambush reflection. First I saw the puddle and then I saw the poodle coming down the path so I pretended to take pictures of trees while waiting for the lady and her dog to walk into the reflection.
As you can see it's been cold and snowy here. :-)
Have a great weekend!

Ici, on appelle ça un "caniche royal".
Tu dois être content d'avoir retrouvé la neige! :o)
Belle embuscade, le reflet est spectaculaire!
Passe un bon week-end!
a great reflection (foofy poodle!) :)
What a perfect reflection, James!! You do get the very best!! Still can't sign in so I think it's time to retire, can't expect others to do it for me! It has been fun and has given me a new awareness of a different kind of beauty!! Thank you! Have a very Merry Christmas and a Great and Happy New Year!!
Nice bit of 'ambushing' here James, love the snazzy poodle jacket ..twice! oh how I want your snow and rain :)
That is a GREAT reflection James.
Great catch! I love that the reflection takes over...gives us more of a view than the scene itself!
I just linked but now I'm wondering if my photos represent reflections! You'll have to let me know. I'm having a blond moment! heehee! Happy holidays!
My, aren't you sneaky? And may I add: well done!
A lot different reflection than southern California! Nicely done!
Love the Ambush Reflection.
Awesome reflections, a great post!
Your photo is fabulous...Beautiful scenery... worthy of waiting...
Nice one James!!! I love your strategy!!! It seems like Standard Poodles are making a greater appearance these days...I went for years not ever seeing any...and in the last few years, more and more!!!
a poodle in a puddle - well worth waiting for the moment
well worth waiting for - great shot...
Very cool shot - it is so clear!
I'm guessing this was taken in a park? I love the green coat on the dog. The reflection is crystal clear!
Good. I'm not the only one pretending to take a pic of something else then... :-) Magical reflection.
Great shot James - love the B&W effect with just a splash of green.
Admit that I've taken that approach once or twice:) Bytheway, since Thanksgiving, where I live is now free from any legal conundrums, so I can sell ... or stay. But I'm hoping for a roomier house, so I don't have to stack my paintings in the hall & have all my kids and grandkids stay overnight!
Wonderful! And a great-looking dog!
You are so slick...or should I say "creative"?....:)JP
Quelle élégance, ce chien ? un caniche royal qui en a toute l'allure. Oui, la neige semble être arrivée à certains endroits. Elle a épargné Paris, et c'est aussi bien.
bon week-end,
Ava

Well, I could say, shame on you ... but the picture is well worth the ambush. You never know, you may have started a new trend ... Ambush Reflections. Sounds like fun to me :)

Oh, good, I'm glad I'm not the only one who "cheated" this week.

Love the way the roof anchors the subject. The green sweater makes the scene festive. Hurray for your patience
Good timing with this shot.
Excellent !

Who doesn't do an ambush photo now and then? I frequently wait for someone to walk in the frame, in order, at the very least, to create a sense of scale. Poodle and puddle go very well together in my opinion.
Great reflection, even if a poodle.
Wow, this is nice!
A wonderful shot!
The puddle and the poodle that sounds funny and makes a funny photo.
LOL ! I can imagine you "ambushing" in the cold !!!! This is a nice "capture" !
Wauu … really wonderful reflection.
Greetings
ambush reflection...what a great name...love the green in the water...it all looks very COLD!
Fantastic shot ~ happy weekend to you ~ thanks, carol, xxx
You are incredible the way you capture these incredible images, James. What a stunning picture. Greetings, Jo
Oh un caniche Royal ! Avec la manie de la miniature, c'est plutôt rare d'en rencontrer, de nos jours... Et avec son manteau, il est le plus beau pour aller danser !
Chouette reflet, James, bravo !
James, the "egg" you have on your blog. Might I copy it and place it on my blog...my sister is presently undergoing chemo...:)JP
great reflection James!
Your wait paid off. - Margy
You are so good. Cartier Bresson called it the decisive moment. Absolutely, wait for it!
