A Lonely Dinner (Weekend Street/Reflections # 97)

 Venice, Italy

While walking in a particularly dark area in Venice, I turned a corner and saw this man sitting alone at a table in a restaurant. Coincidentally I took this picture exactly eight years ago, on December 2, 2014. It was during a wonderful trip to London, Florence, Venice, and Paris.

Have a good weekend!

Now you can link reflections and/or street photography.

Please no posed pictures, portraits, animals, etc. unless there is a reflection.

"Street photography is a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge."

A nice photo, and the resonance of sharing it on the same date does carry some sort of meaning. It seems that we have both published the same basic photo in completely different circumstances. Mine is in a park in Honolulu in the early morning, yours is in the urban setting of Venice in the evening

Sometimes it's nice to be alone but he looks like he's contemplating life.

Do you think he came for some drinks?
We were in Venice in August, 2013. Our cruise started, Air from London to Venice, ship to Athens via the Black sea (Ukraine was nice then). We had Mrs. Jim, daughter, and granddaughter, and me. Search my blog for "Venice to Athens" or the likes.

James, you asked what that plumbing pipe home made instrument in my street shot sounded like. It was not as percussive as the Pipe Guy, but was more like a multi-tone didgeridoo. Hope that helps.
