An Old House Nestled in the Tall Grass

I took this picture in Tyler State Park, about a half of a mile from Schofield Covered Bridge. I'm not sure but I think it's used as a ranger station.

It's so rustic looking and so lonely looking. But that makes it look very peaceful and serene. Hope you enjoyed your time away my friend :)

I love this picture! the very simple lines of the landscape and the beautyful light make me think of a Edward Hopper 's painting.

(Thank you for your nice comments! and to answer to your question:no, I did not swim around the white statue, because :1) it was in a port with plenty of boats, and 2)and not least, the water was VERY cold!!Ü)

Very nice. In a few weeks, it will be harder to see the house because the field will fill in.

I think it's romantic!I liked the field and the green that is growing up for this Spring , like a feeling of hope for better days...
Great shot!

It does bring to mind the Wyeth style painting.

This is the kind of scene we see quite often when camping at our state parks in southern and central Minnesota. Not as much in northern MN though. Nice feel to the shot...very warm.

Rebecca is right: it looks like 'Christina's World' without Christina...

Oh my YES, Bibi, Rebecca and VP nailed it... Christina's World without Christina! Have you been to the Wyeth Museum? It's located at a lovely spot on the Brandywine River.

I really enjoy taking these walks with you. This landscape is so peaceful in its subtle beauty.

Oops, I also wanted to mention that if you are interested in going to Glen Onoko (Jim Thorpe area) I put a post on it on my regular blog on Sunday. At the bottom is some helpful info that we had trouble finding online anywhere.

They must have a good painter, the place literally glows !

And totally agree with previous mentions of Wyeth here...

Such beautiful open spaces and I love the golden field of grass.

I looked at your picture again and it reminds me so much of Andrew Wyeth's painting, 'Christina's World'. It's really quite beautiful.
